Prism Academy is a the most famous academy for young wizards and witches learning how to control their elements and such. While humans without magical abilities know nothing of the magical world, all other creatures do. This is because wizards and witches aren't just humans, they are also were-wolves, harpies, faeries, vampires, and so on. At the school they spend five years from the time they are fifteen or sixteen years old, learning magic spells and about their elements. Each one has a single element. Fire, water, earth or air. However rumors speak of three other elements. Dark, light, and the most elusive lightning. These seven elements are special to the world as they are also representative of the seven ancient families. While only six remain, the six work as rulers to the world of magic. So welcome young one to Prism Academy.
Plot: This is an academy RP, however there is a plot and it will be up to our characters to figure it out. Every element does not have a limit minus dark, light, and lightning obviously. While I'll be using light for my character, dark is open for people, and lightning as well. If two RPers want, they can have twins for the lightning element, not dark however. Also you don't have to be human, and you can create species, just send me in the species you want to create. If you want to be a werewolf, fairy, or harpy, then let me know, only because there are specifics on their species that relate to the plot. Vampires, Dragons, and Phoenixes are banned.
About the elements: Each element is stronger than another. Fire is stronger than air, air is stronger than earth, earth is stronger than water, and water is stronger than fire. Dark and light are constantly trying to vanquish each other, and lightning is in it's own special world and strikes down the main four elements. If a person controlling the light element is around two with the dark element, then they will be greatly affected and almost die. The reverse is the same for dark. The two must be balanced. Also for some reason they are always opposite gendered.
The ancient families: While the ancient families are represented by the elements, the fact has been lost through time. Each family however are a different species. Our characters will discover about the elements part of it, though I will still list for you guys. Akatsuki the family of reapers represented by lightning. Bazukai family of were-wolves represented by dark. Cereste family of elves represented by light. Dragonias family of humans represented by air. Ferian family of nymphs represented by earth. Ikadoshi family of summoners represented by fire. Sandeia family of healers represented by water.
About your characters: If you want to do something special with your characters then let me know and we will work it into the plot.
About the school and world: The school is split into five dorms, each depending on the year that the student is in. The dorms each have a boys and girls side. Technology is present in the world, though most prefer not to use it, other than the more common things like pens and pencils. Cell phones are banned at the school, and one must use a school phone to contact family, though very few ever have one anyways in fear of humans using listening in and learning of their world. (Non magic that is). Students are not allowed pets or any kind of vehicles. Vehicles will be removed immediately, and checks are done constantly to make sure none are hidden around. Pets are left more lenient. Some manage to sneak and keep their pets with the teachers knowing. Not everyone knows their elements when first entering the school, and those that do not can be tested to see what their element is.
About Magic: Magic comes from one's element and while all have a basic use to it, they branch off into the elements. Magic can be combined with other magic, and used to enhance ones own abilities. These are things taught at the school. It is not known for magic to be able to combine with anything else, currently, though some will test their abilities, most failing. This may be due to lack of control, or their elements not agreeing with which they are trying to enhance. Magic can't generally go levitating things and such. This isn't Hogwarts folks, nor does it exist.
