All of Ash's Tournaments have worked in a different way, so what are people's thoughts on the Kanto Grand Festival?

Based on the episode titles, I'm going to guess that there will only be one appeals round this time. The Hoenn Grand Festival would probably have benefited from losing much of the first episode but that's just me. Harley won't be trying the same plan, anyway, so the writers may decide to do that for plot purposes. Or they could do two rounds in one episode but I'm sticking to my first guess.

We know that Harley's battle will be a double battle so that rule is still in. However, there is likely to be more time between his and Drew's battles. (Harley's plot will probably be resolved there to leave room for ContestShipping in the last episode.)

That's because they wasted so much damn time with Team Rocket in the first episode. The appeals were just the last 10 seconds of that episode because they wasted time with a pointless TR subplot.

I really hope the writers don't do this again in the Kanto GF, wasting time on TR is NEVER good during tournament episodes.

It might be two appeal rounds again, but who knows. I'm guessing the entire first GF episode will just be for introductions and appeals, just like the Hoenn one was. The difference is this time they're starting the battles in the second episode, whereas in the Hoenn GF they saved all the battles for the third episode.

According to Harley's VA, he's still in the third episode. He might only be muttering behind the stands though, similar to the way he was after the Drew/May match in the first one.

Anyway, I really do think the matches in this are going to be the same.

1st episode: Character introductions, get the appeals out of the way. Maybe both sets of appeals in the same episode?

2nd episode: May/Harley match obviously. After that, we might get another short May Vs. Filler coordinator match to give her another win. I don't think Anthony will return so it's likely to be a new coordinator.

3rd episode: May/Drew match. Maybe Harley's plan will come into affect in this episode if he doesn't do anything before. Since it's likely that May will lose yet again to Drew, I'm guessing that if Robert doesn't return, Drew will go on and win the entire Grand Festival.

What's good is that Ash isn't training anything this time unlike Snorunt last time, so they don't have to waste screentime with that. I also hope for god sakes that TR's screentime is limited, they wasted a lot of time with them in the Hoenn one.

Oh, and I hope Caroline returns. Caroline > Delia. :D
