I ran across this story today and thought I'd share.

It discusses the fact that Marvel and DC have held a joint trademark on the term "super-hero" since 1981. That's really all it's about, but for me...it's fascinating. The very fact that the term is trademarked is astounding. I just wonder if Marvel or DC would actively pursue a company for using the term on the cover of a comic.
 
That's like George Lucas trying to trademark the term "droid".
 
He hasn't? Would be hard to slap it on a few figures every year.
 
That had to do with the ability to create characters that looked like Marvel properties. Anal-retentiveness is the way of Marvel.
 
I meant that its not above them to be greedy little grunts about things that don't really matter.
 
Well in that case, you're completely right. Kinda sad how petty they've become. They don't even seem to mind when there are blatant rip offs of their properties, it's just the fringe stuff they attack.
