A soft, warm, breeze enveloped her. The water was calm, and crystal clear. The sun was beginning to set, so the sky had an orange hue to it. Lillie the Poochyena was sitting down by the beach. Her mane was a softer, less bristly coat. Her paws were a darker shade than the rest of her body. Her pink bow on her right ear contrasted well against her coloring. She seemed to be angry about something.


"Darn it...I can't believe my stupid brothers got to the treasure before I did!" Lillie shouted, "Why am I always the weak one! Why don't I have a partner to help me! Why do I have to be the only female in the pack! Gah!" she howled angrily towards the sky. The water rushed up against her paws, causing them to get wet. She growled and backed away from the salty sea. "Stupid Ocean..."

Kyle was walking down the beach, kicking sand around, and occasionally dipping his feet in the water, when he heard a howl. He shrugged, and decided to ignore it. As he continued walking, he saw a Poochyena that looked to be rather upset about something. Kyle decided it must've been the source of the howl, and went to investigate.

"Hey, what's up?" he asked the Poochyena.

Lillie looked over at the Cyndaquil and grunted.

"Why do you want to know?" She said with a rather harsh tone of voice.

Lillie glared at the Cyndaquil.

"Fine," She spoke, "I'm annoyed. My treasure hunting mission was a failure. My brothers got to the treasure first, and I got left with nothing. I'm the only girl in my pack...besides my mother, but still..."

"Heck if I know," Lillie growled, "I'm the runt, they treat me like I'm a piece of junk! My mother loves me, but that's about it. I did have a twin brother...I don't know if he's okay or not though...."

"He was sent on a treasure mission a few months ago, but he hasn't returned and no one has heard from him either..." Lillie frowned as her ears drooped downwards, "I just hate my life..."

"It's Lillie," Lillie growled slightly, "What's yours?"

"I found it first, then my brothers took it away from me, and claimed that they found it," Lillie growled.

"I don't know..." Lillie spoke, "I wonder if it's because I'm a girl, and they immediately put me down and see me as a weakling...."
