I laugh how Final Fantasy is still really high, even though everyone thinks the game is horrible...

HGSS on the second place. Nice. When was the Dragon Quest released?

I believe it goes like this...
1. You play some earlier FF games and like them
2. You hear that FF XIII is crap
3. You don't believe, because you liked the earlier ones
4. You go buy the game
5. You play the game
6. You find out that it's crap and say it to others

I think the more impressive feat is the fact that the game ranked so high despite only being out for less than two weeks.

And a lot of people are actually enjoying it. I'm one of them. Of course, it also helps if you go into the game with an open mind and don't instantly dismiss anything that's different as being "bad."

July.

Not bad, Pokémon. A 2nd place ranking and 3 placing overall.

Well, well! HG/SS is at 2nd place. This makes me look forward to the English version more!

Holy shit, Gyakuten Kenji/Ace Attorney Investigations got in the top 30? Awesome sauce. How the hell did Radiant Mythology outsell Platinum? It was an escort title too. Then again, it was released last year. I'm not surprised about HGSS being 2nd and 3 Pokemon titles overall being in the top 30, I'm happy that franchise is loved by many.

I'm surprised Bayonetta isn't on the list. I thought it had high sales and FFXIII only came out this month while Bayonetta came out a few months ago. I
m also happy that ToV, Taiko, FFXIII, Fantasy Star, and Layton got in, though I'm not surprised about these either, except for Fantasy Star. As for the other titles, I don't really care for them and it was expected. (358/2 days was okay.)

The only ones I didn't expect were Gyakuten Kenji and ToTW:RW. I knew Gyakuten Kenji was second to KH in the opening month, but I didn't think it were that popular since Gyakuten Saiban 4/Apollo Justice sold the best out of the Gyakuten Series and Gyakuten Kenji was a spin-off. Then again, it had Edgeworth.

It's kind of irritating how that lazy (and completely unnecessary!) Mystery Dungeon rehash scored as high as it did. Either people seriously crave more-of-the-same, or the cheesy allure of...flying flower-dog things is too much to resist.

Nice to see that Mario and Luigi's third handheld RPG scored as high as it did though. They'll be Fawfuless from now on, but I'm looking forward to more from the series. The incentive to make another is certainly there.

Also, the name of that Kingdom Hearts game? Always a laugh.

Is there also a list in which Heartgold and soulsilver are counted seperately?

To everyone who's worried about Pokémon possibly ending in the not-too-distant future, I say "bah". The #2 best-selling game of the year does not suddenly stop for no reason.

Hell, Platinum came out almost a year and a half ago and it still cracked the top 30. That's pretty darn impressive. Keep 'em coming, Nintendo!

Agreed.
If they were smart (which they are) they would continue dishing out the games. Look at all this income, damn lol.

Can't wait for HgSs, english releases.

Not that I've seen. Doing so would effectively halve the number we see, placing both games further back on the list.

HGSS stands out well, having been released two months later and still reaching 3/4 of Dragon Quest's amount of sold games :p

True, but DQIX still whipped its ass when it comes to being the fastest-selling DS game ever.

Nice list, glad to see Pokemon hold it's own on it, along with the Edgeworth game, Prof. Layton, Mario, and Dragon Quest IX doing well. It still show that Pokemon is a force to be reckoned with.

I do wish, though, that they'd stop it with the main games (Red, Green, Blue, Gold, Ruby, Diamond, etc.) and stop making new Pokemon after the fifth generation and expand the Pokemon game franchise in newer ways.

EDIT: An interesting way to spend my 100th post...

The top 10 games are not super surprising. I'm glad the Pokeman games are still trucking along, but this just means the issues with the games will not be corrected.
