That Time article was very hurtful to the fandom, but I don't really blame them with how Pokemon was so out of control back then. Now I know why the rival carries Shigeru Miyamoto's name. I did not know Tajiri was friends with Ken Sugimori, either.
 
Wait, what does he mean Satoshi never passes Shigeru? Red beats Green at the end of RGBY. XD And Ash did end up beating Gary in the end, but that was four years in the future of this.
