The "Trading Profiles" Thread

In this thread, make one post that will hold all of your trading information. Then, you can link directly to your post in your siggy, or if someone asks you what you want/have. As your Pokemon change after trades, or your desired Pokemon change, or for any reason, edit your post. You won't have to change the url to your post, so this method will be seamless.

If you see something you like in this thread, PM (private message) the person instead of making a post like "hay I want that level 100 gliscor my friend code is 0048-1516-2342 my names JOHnnY ill give you three eevee for it ;-) ;-) ;-)." Extraneous posts will be asked to be deleted (to keep the thread tidy).

If you want to make a profile in this thread, you must have Private Messaging toggled "On." If not, people won't be able to ask you for trades, and that'd be awfully frustrating (and wrong). Also, in your Trading Profile post, you can place other contact information (e.g. "I'm on AIM a lot"/"E-mails get my attention"/"PMing me is the best way to get in contact with me").

Well, first of all, it would (and will) take forever for the thread to get bogged down, reducing its navigability. Even then, we have the "Search this Thread" option to look for Pokemon we want.

Second of all, this thread isn't meant to be people, one after another, saying "I'm in the mood for SHINIES. Anybody got ANY?" or "I have ARCEUS and I want a SHAYMIN. PS don't ask how I got the arceus ;-) ;-) ;-)," with posts trying to keep members on topic/anti-spammy dotted throughout. It's meant to be used as a place for profiles (sic: see title of thread) that they can link to in their signatures/PM's (or even IM's/E-mails, if they want). Even if it eventually got overwhelmed by the number of posts, it would still have use and wouldn't get abused.

For Legendary trading, I won't trade a Legendary trade for one I see as being of lesser value, but I will do a temporary trade for the purposes of adding it to the Pokedex, especially if you offer me a legendary I haven't already seen. For example, I won't make a permanent trade of Groudon for Dialga, but I'm happy to do a temporary swap. I'm happy also to do the same in reverse - that is, if there's a Pokemon I want but that you don't want to give up, I'm fine with just getting a look so that it's added to the Pokedex.

Sorry guys. We can only have one Trade thread at a time. I've had to close other trade threads that were similar to this in the past, and it's not fair to them to leave yours open.

If you want to make a trade profile, you should create it somewhere off-site and link to it in your sig. Or you might try making it in the trade coordination thread. I'm sorry, but it's not always easy to get what we want all the time. Serebii's forums are in the same position right now. They tried having it this way, but no one could ever find anything, so they completely restructured their trade forums. We don't have a need for that just yet though. You'll have to make do with what we have. If you have suggestions for improvement, I'll be happy to hear them, though.
