Something I've come to realize after my latest hiatus: my RPs die because they burn me out. I always tend to these big, dramatic things, where I envision a sweeping plot and epic tales of heroism. And I do enjoy those, and love telling an awesome story with lots of others. But they just burn me out: the pressure--totally self-imposed--of trying to hook people with something awesome and memorable just scares me straight to my bones. Even before the RP really gets off the ground. And then I end up running away from BMGf again.

But the thing is, I still love RPGs to death. And after joining an RP group in real life, I think I'm starting to understand why I do. Sure, heroics are awesome, and everyone loves a good story. But I look forward to my sessions with my friends because they're my friends. I just love the silliness we get up to, just wasting time on ridiculous things with them. College has been eye-opening.

So maybe I can bring a little bit of that new-earned self-awareness here, where my love of RPing began. The fifth anniversary of my joining BMGf is coming up, and I've been extraordinarily lucky to meet so many wonderful people here on BMGf. But I've never really gotten the chance to know them, to really lighten up with all of you. So that's what this RP is about. Nothing epic, or crazy (well, unless you guys want it). Just a chance to relax, (hopefully) make friends, relax, and (maybe) have a little fun.

THE TRAINER FAN CLUB

Description:
Everyone loves the stories of great Trainers battling it out at the top, clashing for supremacy--the best of the best, elite vs. elite, would-be champions striving for the title. But, not everyone can be the Champion; you can go your whole lives without ever entering a League Tournament, let alone the hallowed halls of the Champion League and the Elite Four. Maybe you don't have the all-consuming drive such a pursuit takes, or the raw talent to see the best strategy at all times, or even the sheer dumb luck to succeed against impossible odds. But that doesn't discount your passion, or your love of battle. So what if you can't be the League Champion? You can still be the very best you can be--on your own terms.

Of course, if you personally can't be there, at the very top of the competitive scene, you can still cheer on those who are. Maybe they're your goal post, ever before your eyes and urging you on. Maybe they're your inspiration, a reflection of yourself and who you want to be. Or maybe a role model and teacher, someone whose steps can guide your own. Maybe it's Lance, the famed Dragon Master. Or Aaron, the newcomer in Sinnoh, or the glamorous Diantha. Or even the enigmatic, inscrutable Red. Whatever the reason, whoever it is--you're one of their fans.

And it's not just you. Everyone's a fan of someone, and everyone wants to share that experience. Maybe you'll follow your idol's rivalries, challenge their fans to settle who's best once and for all. Or maybe participate in less spirited, more thoughtful debate. Or maybe you'll just skip to the being friends bit--after all, competition engenders friendship even more easily than it does hostility.

The Trainer Fan Club welcome any and all who wish to discuss and celebrate the best--both Trainers and experiences--in the world of Pokemon. Friendships, rivalries, competitions--who knows what awaits? It's all up to you.

Name: Arc'Teryx Maleficent
Age: 14
Gender: Female
Appearance: Arc has dirty blonde hair, hazel eyes, and a wiry physique. Not necessarily tall, but somewhat short. She wears a black hoodie (the arms cut off) with a white shirt and basketball shorts. Adidas are a common sight to her feet, as well as a flat brim hat.
Personality: Viewing the world with bleak resentment, she can be brutally honest and keep other people at a distance. She hates the worldand most everyone in it, at least on the surface. Maybe she just loves being the devil's advocate. Then again, she could care less about emotional and sentimental. Not a very happy person.

Name: Joseph and Joshua “The Clones” Antonimous

Age: 17

Gender: Male

Sexuality: Gay (Joe) and Bi (Josh)

Appearance:

6mmw.png

qy3o.png
4983.png

Joe and Josh are quite tall, at six foot four, and have an extremely pale complexion, almost white. They both have messy black hair at shoulder length, (though Joshes is approximately an inch longer) that shines slightly when hit by light, like silk. Their eyes are a matching, bright turquoise, which glitter slightly whenever they laugh.

Their usual outfits consist of jeans, t-shirts and button-ups, ranging from black to various blues, greens, and pinks. They’re almost never seen without a pair of fingerless gloved, though the style of them may vary, and they tend to choose one jacket per season and stick with it. They both also have a pair of lip piercings, Joe’s on the right side of his mouth, Josh’s on the left. Joe also has a tongue piercing, and Josh one on his right nostril.

Personality:
Joe and Josh can be described as nothing more than quirky. Being sarcastic at times, happy-go-lucky at others, and downright insane normally on a rare occasion, people generally don’t know what they’re thinking. They differ in several ways, however; Josh is the more protective and dominant, sticking up for Joe and anyone else whom he admires. He is also more brutal, retorting to violence quicker than Joe would. Joe on the other hand is calmer, often having to drag his brother away and out of fights. Joe is also the hopeless romantic of the two, while Josh can be described as… promiscuous, to say the least. They both have a, seemingly random, hate of Abomasnow.

History:
Joe and Josh were born in Snowpoint City, in Sinnoh. Their mother owned a large manor house, so it’s safe to say they had a slightly privileged childhood. Their mother was also the Snowpoint Gym leader, until their sister, Candice, took over for her when she retired.

They lived a happy childhood, receiving most anything they asked for; piano lessons, language instructors, martial arts training. Then, one day, when they were almost six, they came across a trio of eggs in an otherwise abandoned nest, just outside of the city. With no mother in sight and the cold threatening, the boys decided to take the eggs home.

They hatched several weeks later, and the Antonimous household now had three infant Eevees running around. Their mother, always a lover of Pokemon, allowed the young Eeevee’s to stay. Joe and Josh each claimed one, leaving Candice to claim the third.

Four years later it was time for Joe and Josh to start their journey. They boarded a ship and, with their newly-evolved partners, set off for Kanto.

Once in Pallet Town, and received a Bulbasaur and Charmander from Professor Oak respectively. They travelled together, but chose different paths; Joe, contests, and Josh, Gym Battles.

They caught many Pokemon through their journey through Kanto, and each reached their respective finals. However, they didn’t exactly…. “Do well.” Joe lost his first battle stage in the Grand Festival, and Josh only made it to the final thirty-two in the Kanto League. Neither was deterred, however, and they started immediately making plans for travelling Johto.

In the end, however, their Johto journey was delayed by two years. The two decided to spend that time, instead, training at the Saffron Dojo.

Once done and fully capable of defending themselves, Joe and Josh went on to explore Johto, Hoenn, and then their own home turf, Sinnoh, progressing further and further in the Grand Festival’s and Pokemon League’s progressively.

Pokemon:

Joe:

197umbreon.png

~Once~
Female

Once was Joe‘s first Pokemon. She hatched from an egg that he and Josh took home, along with two others, when their mother, a Glaceon, was killed by an Abomasnow. They‘ve been the best of friends for almost five years now. She is extremely loyal, and graceful in battle.

003venusaurf.png

~Ivy~
Female

Joe chose Ivy as his starter Pokemon when he and Josh started their journey through Kanto. She was his second ever Pokemon. Ivy was extremely shy to begin with, but once she saw Joe and Once playing in a field, she plucked up the courage to go and join them. She is still slightly shy to this day, but can often get over it.

024arbok.png

~Serpico~
Male

Found on the way to Cerulean City. Not a very interesting story; Joe saw him, battled him, and caught him. He likes to scare people. A lot.

350miloticf.png

~Drakainai~
Female

Joe met Drakie in Hoenn, just outside of Sootopolis City. She was trying to fend off a pack of Sharpedo at the time, and failing miserably until Josh called out his Wailord to disperse them. She was badly injured, so Joe caught her and took her to a Pokemon Centre, planning on releasing her when she was healed. As it turns out, the Sharpedo did some serious damage, and, according to Nurse Joy, she wouldn‘t survive in the wild, so Joe decided to keep her. She‘s very affectionate, and doesn’t like battling much.

376metagross.png

~Daigo~
Technically genderless, but is referred to as male

Caught as a Beldum who was stubbornly attached to the space station‘s wall in Mosdeep City. It was causing communication errors, until Joe coaxed it off with a few of his home-made Poffins. Daigo is thought to be very elderly for a Metagross, as his body has rusted slightly. He has a very short temper.

373salamence.png

~Cruxis~
Male

Joe received Cruxis from a trade, in return for his old Blaziken. He was untrusting of Joe to start with, but soon came around.

Josh:
196espeonz.png

~Amethyst~
Female

Amethyst was Joshes first Pokemon. She hatched from an egg that he and Joe took home, along with two others, when their mother, a Glaceon, was killed by an Abomasnow. They‘ve been the best of friends for almost five years now. She‘s quite lazy, and likes to make people happy, usually by singing.

006charizard.png

~Charming~
Male

Josh chose Charming as his starter Pokemon when he and Joe started their journey through Kanto. He was his second ever Pokemon. Due to his shiny colouration, Charming was extremely haughty and proud, thinking himself better than all other Charmanders. He still kept this attitude up until Josh challenged the Pewter Gym, where he had to drop it and listen to Joshes commands or be flattened by an Onix. Charming is, nowadays, very loyal and proud, not responding well to insults.

130gyarados.png

~Fluffy~
Male

Josh caught Fluffy while he was terrorizing a family, swimming on the shores of Olivine City. He thinks the nickname is kinda “cute.” Fluffy kinda hates him.

474porygonz.png

~Data~
Technically genderless, but is referred to as male

Josh just found and caught Data. Nothing really special. Data‘s quite mischievous and likes to make random sound effects to scare people.

262mightyena.png

~Padfoot~
Male

Caught as Joshes second Pokemon in Hoenn, the first being his starter. Padfoot is very arrogant, and when he barks, it sounds like a laugh.

330flygon.png

~Jabberwock~
Female

Traded as a Trapinch for Joshes Gastly. She doesn‘t like new people and is quite shy.

Other: Uh… I like cake…. Hehheh…. xD

Name: Maya Mills

Age: 12

Gender: Female

Appearance: Maya has forest green eyes and long black hair. Her structure is small and pixie-like, with small breasts and delicate features. She usually wears pastel colors, full of light pinks, blues, and lavenders. She wears tank tops most of the time with jean shorts or skirts of matching colors.

Personality: Maya is perpetually cheerful, almost annoyingly so, and can either cheer people up or drive them mad, depending on the personality of the receiving end. She can be a help or a nuisance. She is a huge fan of the Fairy type, and believes them to be superior to all others.

Backstory: Maya originates from Laverre City and grew up idolizing Valerie, the Fairy-type gym leader. On her tenth birthday she was given a Mawile by her parents in order to feed her dreams.

Pokemon: Molly the female Mawile

Name: Nyamo
Age: 15
Gender: Male
Appearance: Nyamo wears a crimson red trainer cap with a blue pokeball insignia on the left side of it that covers his reddish-brown bangs that surround the sides of his head. He has black (or very dark brown if you want to be literal) eyes and peach fuzz on his chin. He often wears a blue windbreaker with a black shirt underneath it and faded blue jeans. His red messenger bag that is always slung around his shoulder is patched up in multiple spots due to a year of adventuring. He will wear either blue sneakers or sandals whenever the weather calls for it.

Personality: Nyamo is a happy-go-lucky guy who will greet other people with a smile and try a slew of methods to befriend them through a battle of strength or beauty. He cares deeply for his pokemon as if they were his family, which is probably due to the fact that one of his pokemon ever was seriously injured in battle due to his own reckless actions.

Backstory: Nyamo hails from Floccesy Town, Unova and is well acquainted with Alder on the account of him being his Granduncle. As you would've guessed, Nyamo idolizes him to unfathomable levels, dressing up as the former Unova champion on Halloween since he was three and watching his champion battles either live or on the television. It was also Alder who arranged for Nyamo to get his starter pokemon, in which he chose the stern Snivy. Now able to go on a journey, he dashed off to fight all of the Unovian gyms and was able to get eight of them before the year was over. Eligible to partake in the Unova Elite four challenge, he started training up his pokemon day and night without rest or leisure until one day his starter pokemon was permanently blinded by a wild Skarmory. Nyamo couldn't help but beat himself up over the incident and vowed to not challenge the Elite Four until he could truly forgive himself of his actions. Also, he has hinted that he has a schoolboy crush on the mystifying Skyla, but will deny the notion to the end of the planet.

Pokemon:
497.gif

Persephone - Female
Persephone was Nyamo's starter pokemon and helped him through thick and thin. She was blinded by a Skarmory and relies on motion-sensing vines she sends underground to "see".

565.gif

Odysseus - Male
Revived from a Cover Fossil that Nyamo found in the Castelia sewers. Dimwitted but very powerful, it often can be seen spaced out as if it was remembering its past life.

607.gif

Andromeda "Andy" - Female
The youngest of the family and caught at Celestial Tower, Andy often gets herself into mischief that Persephone has to solve or mediate. She hates the look of her pokeball, so she usually sits inside of Nyamo's bag where she can be kept an eye on.

Name: Dalston
Age: 13
Gender: Male
Apearance: Dalston is short for his age and has brown hair. He usually wears a black cotton underarmour t-shirt with jeans and tennis shoes.
Personality: Dalston is very competitive and confident. He will be quick to anger if anybody thinks Lance, Drake, or dragon types are weak.
Backstory: Dalston was born into a family of dragon tamers, which included his coisons lance and clair. At the age of 5 he recieved his first pokemon, a dratini. At the age of 10 his family had to move to the sinnoh region, which angered him as he wanted to grow up in blackthorn. In sinnoh he caught a gible. His adventures in sinnoh did not last long, as he had to move to hoen one year later. Here he recieved a bagon from a distant dragon tamer, drake. In a cave Dalston was trapped by agitated zubats that were spamming confuse ray on him. This couldve caused brain injuries but an aron scared them off. The aron then decided to travel with Dalston. Not quite ready to go on an adventure, Dalston has decided to stop at the trainer fan club.

I don't get it... Does this have any kind of story? A plot? Or is it just like an RP lounge room?
