Hey all,

I checked the past few pages for an answer to my question, but around page 3 the load times made my head spin, so I thought I'd make a new thread. Anyway, I don't know if this has been asked yet or not, but...will a direct DS-to-DS trade allow one to have a Pokemon like Spitiromb early, say before the E4 are even faced?

...That may have been a little confusing, so let me clear it up: the GTS allows you to trade with people online for Pokemon you've seen. My question is that if I have two DS handhelds and a copy of each game, for example Diamond in postgame and Pearl before gym 3, am I able to trade Spiritomb (a Pokemon ineligible for the GTS without seeing it in the E4 first or using the direct "talk to 30 people" function) to Pearl much in the way you could trade...oh...a late game Pokemon from another game to an early stage of another Pokemon game file?

It's...a nebulous question, and I guess I was too wordy with it...but hopefully it's lucid. I'd test this out myself, but I don't own a second DS.

yes it will. i've given people over wifi things like mew, charmander and other crap before they've beaten the elite 4.

Yeah, I traded a Lv. 1 Spiritomb from my Japanese Pearl to my English Diamond when I got to Sandgem.

Thanks a lot for the info, fellas. At least where the GTS disappointed me a bit, regular trading can suffice.

I actually have found the GTS to be way better then it was back when the game came out in Japan, it took me 2 hours to get a Burmy for a reasonable trade of a Cherubi.
