Ok, can someone please tell why the f*** they would have Splash as an attack when it does nothing (even in water)!? :banghead: I once heard that it only worked on Tentacool as a 1-hit KO move, but aside from that...

Every move in the game has a use...except for f****** Splash.:bash:

...

Yay! Shower!!!:dodgy:

It's so that Magikarp can be an utterly useless Pokémon that can't even struggle until 40 turns later.

It works in only two conditions:

1) it must be during a contest
2) it must be used on a pokemon with a sexy trainer in white

Wet t-shirt competitions, whut.

Before it was a contest move, it was purely humor.

And I like humor.

I s'pose you could use it to knock down the move PP on Magikarp and use Struggle (Is that it's name? I haven't used it in forever).

In Pokemon Colosseum, if you go to Mt. Battle Double Mode, one of the first ten trainers has a team that all knows Splash. Very amusing, since it then becomes less of a battle and more of a "How fast can we wipe the floor with them?" contest.

But yes, Splash's only purpose seems to be humor and rumor fodder.

Hopefully the attack will have a more suitable function in future games. So far, it's been effective in contests (and humor?). It doesn't do Magikarp any justice, especially since it labels the poor Pokemon as useless, until it levels up to twenty and evolves.

There must be a special feature exclusive to Splash.

Khion Shinsei-has that really happened before?

Isn't that the point to Magikarp? Dragons (and pseudo-dragons [Milotic and Gyarados]) are supposed to be frustrating to raise. Dratini and Bagon? Not fun at all. Trapinch, less hair-pulling. Feebas? Let's not go there. Magikarp, also frustating, but less so now with held-items and EXP Share going to one instead of all. Splash was there to keep it useless until it could finally be "worth the effort".

Yeah, Splash is completely useless. The only time I've ever actually seen it DO anything was the Magikarp mini-game on Pokemon Stadium. I've never used it in a contest, what happens if you do?

You get two appeal points, though more if it is the last move to be performed in a round.

Splash is made to show you that Magikarp is useless until evolved. I believed all the rumors back then, and then I just realized that it's a pathetic move that does nothing. :p Also, the Hoppip family can get it as well, which is just wtf. lol

Who cares about Splash. I want to see Teleport become usable in Trainer battles. What's up with that anyways? Could they at least change it so it works like Baton Pass. Or maybe a Psychic version of Fly (dissapear for one turn and them reappear the next and attack)?

Actually I didn't find Magikarp frustrating at all....I just went to the Pokemon daycare and chucked it off there and left, to return 20 levels later...
Really now it's a useless move, I think it'd be even a less useless move if they made it so that it has a percentage of the other pokemon missing...Since there's all that splashing around...
