Because who doesn't love a healthy dosage of pessimism?

Contrarily referencing: The best moments in gaming.

Which moments in all of gamedom do you think win these titles:
Worst level?, event/cutscene?, boss battle?, ending?

For cutscenes, I cast my vote for anything that played in a 3-D Sonic the Hedgehog game...ever.

Worst level: 1st level in Sonic Heroes. It was so easy it wasn't even funny.

Worst event/cutscene: Whenever Sakura wins a fight against anyone in any Naruto game. Her voice is so annoying. I always think; "STFU!" whenever I play as her.

Worst boss battle: Lubaris (ToS). With the preivious boss, Kvar, I was overleveled, but it was so friggin hard to beat him! And with Lubaris... I was underleveled yet... beat him without losing any teammates, or having to use a single gell. And Raine wasn't in my party. Yeah.

Ending: Any pokemon game. So repetitive. I just don't like.

Playing the Hive level in "Turok 2" on my N64 only to find out that it was like an endless and boring maze. I truly hate this game, it is my nemesis. I don´t get WHY it got so many good ratings when only the graphics are nice. Many hours of playing it are on my "worst moments list".

Playing all 52 "games" on "Action 52". It really, really hurt your mind and body.

Not being able to beat the level "Carrington Institute" on PerfectAgent in "Perfect Dark"...yeah, maybe I suck.

Worst cutsene: the begining of Digimon World : Dusk. The Phrase: " I'm gonna... kill them." " Huh? get out of the way?"

Most of the game jusat sucked.

Yeah, any moment with Sakura speaking sucks.

Worst moment for me, getting brutally murdered by Seymour (WTF? That doesn't sound like the name of a bad guy!) so many times when you fight him for the third time in FFX. Stab - you're a zombie. Full Life - you're dead.

Hate it.

And then, when I tought I was winning, he pulls some attack called "Total Annilation" out of nowhere, killing all my characters except Auron, who he then kills be stabbing him before I can do anything. Crap. Just crap.

Took me longer to beat him that it took me to beat Sephiroth on KH2, and you fight with a giant key! A KEY!!! Not dangerous summons and sharp swords, but a KEY!

Bahamut! Why! He just banished him! Again, and again, and again! Each time I tried!

...I'm sorry, I just beat him yesterday, so I'm still pretty sore about it.

Worst Level: LoZ: TP. Two words. Water. Dungeon. FARK!

Worst Cutscene: Anything that played in Red Steel. I could not stand that gimmicky comic-style crap.

Worst Ending: I actually talked about this in the Best moments thread.

The ending from MGS (Metal Gear Solid) 2 could have been good. There was a big twist, but the politcal dialogue and downright wierd-ass themes just ruined it. You're friends and companions who've been helping you along the way are really AI? Brilliant! The no joke 40+ minutes of straight dialogue from them about the digital cesspool that had formed in the White House? Not cool, Kojima, not cool.

Worst Boss battle: The Cloud Candy bloke in Yoshi's Story. All you had to do was walk forward and hammer 'B' for 20 seconds.

Either that or Halo 3's final boss. COME ON! So easy you'd think you were playing a point-and-click adventure game. Not to mention that the last hour of the game is one big snore-fest in itself. A big slide down easy street.

(EDIT - Double Post - god what's wrong with the forums! So irritating)

Damn, I have to retype my reply, I hate it when that happens

That exact thing happened to me, creepy. Luckily that first battle was just to see if I could beat him at the "level" I was. I had quite a lot of unused sphere levels after the mountain, and just used those up. The battle was easy then.. though he didn't use that move that time. I was a little annoyed about that.

Worst level: every platform I've ever played, I suck at them.

Worst event/cutscene: most of the early FFX scenes, Tidus' whining in that annoying English dubbed voice grated on me terribly. Luckily he changed throughout the game, he doesn't bother me at all now. Of course I restarted the game just to try out the other sphere grid, the expert one.. I was very quickly reminded of how annoying he was. I just thought I had gotten used to him, I was wrong.. he did just "mature" thru the game.

Worst boss battle: I've got a few, but I don't remember all of my boss battles.
+ The first Sephiroph at the end of VII, that battle took forever. I also wasnt aware that you had to use the other team members in the battle. I didnt have enough spells for them all, luckily all but Cait Sith were raised evenly (god I hate him). My FF fanatic friend later told me (and proved it) that he only uses Cloud's team (with Tifa and Yuffie) against him anyway. Of course he had trained Chocobo's so he had Knights of the Round, mime.. which he only used to show off two Omnislash's in a row, plus had mastered more materia than I did. This time round it shouldn't take too long, I hope.. :p He did also say that sometimes you just have to battle with one team, so he was probably used to battling like that. It did seem easier by the looks of it to not follow Cloud's instructions to use the other teams.. sigh.

+ The champ in D/P kicked my ass so many times it just stopped being funny. I was 20odd levels lower than her, and I didn't have any advantage over her Garchomp. Plus Milotic had an advantage over any member of my team who could kill her, my electric type has a speed disadvantage and lost more than half health to icebeam/surf, and I had the grass starter. There should be a topic on this forum already with me whining about it. I did beat her eventually, but I had to train a new fire type for another part of the E4 and a Glaceon to defeat that pesky Garchomp, and have the hard job of choosing two members of the current team to evict.

+ Another champ in Red (I think) when I was playing it the first time. I was grossly underlevelled and had scraped through the E4 barely.. like above I had to accept a loss and just go back in. That was easier than the above though, as I had levelled a lot during the E4 the first/second time, his butt was kicked the 2nd time.

+ Also Chaos (I think he was called..) in FF1, just because it was so long and tedious.. kinda like Sephiroph was lol.

+ I should mention all platform bosses, as I am terrible at them. At least RPGs I get there in the end, always.

Dude, that battle was pretty easy, IMO.

For me... the worst boss was Bowser Jr. in New Super Mario Bros. He was laughably easy in every form.

This.

It actually turned me off of Final Fantasy for a while because I was stuck at that battle for far too long.

Speaking of getting stuck, if playing though the entire Water Temple dungeon in LoZ: OoT wasn't enough, missing a crucial key after raising the water level to the max was quite harrowing since I didn't think I'd be able to go back into the pillar seeing as the only visible entrance blocked by water.

It took me trial and error to figure that I needed to take off the Iron Boots to raise into the narrow corridor I had long since forgotten at the start of the dungeon where I could safely lower the water again.

In Pokemon Emerald, I just lost to Wally when he asked me for a battle in Victory Road. For the second time. In a row. In the first run. When his Pokemon were weaker than my HM slave. So pathetic.

I too think FFX has a few "worst moments"...

I haven't played the game in years as a result of the Sin battle (outside). I just got so frustrated I stopped playing and never went back.

Another moment it had was Tidus' "BUT I WANT EVERYTHING ;__________;" line. I've disliked him ever since.

My latest worst moment(s) in games: The Temple of the Ocean King in Phantom Hourglass. Fine, make us run 3 levels of it before the next dungeon, but don't make us have to go through the whole thing everytime :/ That really hurt that game for me, and I otherwise really like it...
