Sorry if this was discussed, I'm relatively new. But okay, I hear about the GS remakes and I have to think, is Ho-oh gonna be featured in a movie?

My question is...was Ho-oh skipped all these years in the movies because the writers are saving it for the end of Pokemon (since its this epic phoenix Pokemon who can supposedly raise people and pokemon from the dead) or did they simply move on.

Is the story of Ho-oh coming? Or are we just supposed to forget about it?

A lot of people think that Ho-Oh may be in the last movie (or one of the last movies.)

I personally think that the writers just forgot about him though.

I like the mystery behind Ho-oh. If they do use Ho-oh in a movie or feature it more in depth during the anime...it will be at the end of the show Im guessing.

I'm not saying I think they for sure WILL use Ho-oh, but if they ever do it will be then.

I'm not sure about a movie, but hopefully it'll do something epic towards the end of the anime. (Although a movie would be awesome. You're never guaranteed good legendary battles/showcases even in those - but at least there's a chance, unlike in the show.)

I hope it gets featured in Movie 13, because it'll be after Sinnoh but before Gen 5, thus being the perfect time to go back to an old legend. Not to mention if GS remakes happen, Ho-oh being featured again make sense.

On top of that 13 is an unlucky number, so seeing Ho-oh featured in some form would be interesting.

I think they originally were saving it for the end, but they may have dropped it. I hope they haven't, but I wouldn't trust them to stick with it.

Yeah, I'd have to go with what Sleet said. But they've brought Ho-Oh up in every region after ten years. One can only hope the writers haven't neglected to remember his significance.

Even if they've forgotten about it, which I doubt, I am sure that the remakes will jog their memory.

Assuming that they have plans to incorporate Ho-oh into the end of the series, that still shouldn't dictate that a movie at an earlier date is off-limits. I don't see anyone complaining about Dialga and Palkia receiving focus both in the show and a movie trilogy.

True unown lord but the complaintsif the movie events arent referenced should go sky high.Anyway yeah its kind of ash's thing a marker of his journey.

yea ho-oh does kind of signify ash's inspiration and motivation to begin new journeys or persevere, etc...but I'm scared that the writers will just leave it at that.

i want an epic storyline involving Ho-oh...you'd think they are planning something or had something planned from the start because they used Ho-oh in like the first or second episode ever!

Hn.

Unfortunately, I personally don't see Ho-Oh getting a movie - at least, not in a long long time.

All this talk about a 'last movie' and the end of the anime series... I don't see that happening as long as the franchise goes on - and as it would seem, it doesn't look like the franchise is going to end until the world ends.

When it comes down to it though... Ho-Oh isn't the only legendary that got shafted on the movie front. Raikou never got a movie (unless if you count the Crystal special, Raikou: Legend of Thunder - which was more of an anime episode than a movie) while Entei and Suicune did (though Suicune played second fiddle to Celebi). Kyogre and Groudon's main stint was in the anime - Groudon proper never got a movie appearance, and Kyogre's tiny cameo in movie 9 hardly counts. Seems that Cresselia and Psychic Midget Patrol are to remain anime-exclusive... So yeah.

Ho-Oh gets enough random mentions in the anime. The way I see it, the rainbow turkey getting a movie anytime soon is about as probable as Ash remembering that years ago he left some funky plot device PokeBall in the hands of some geezer in Azalea who lieks Slowpokes. Or remembering he used to have an awesome effing Pidgeot that he said he'll come back for.

All those Pokemon still got appearances however, Ho-oh's are merely cameos, never a full debut.

It's true not every Pokemon is going to get a role, or even a big role in the movies, (Regigigas also did next to nothing in Movie 11), but they usually get at least one major role to be properly featured.

Ho-oh is from two generations ago, there's no reason for the writers to continue to avoid putting it in movies unless they had something planned for it. With the way they hype it up in every region, it seems they still want us to consider it important.

I like to think of Ho-oh as a Chekhov's Gon sort of thing: why keep bringing it up if it's not going to have any significance? If we consider the end of the anime (whenever that is :P ) to be equivalent to act three of a film, then we can apply the The Law Of Conservation Of Detail to the series, and hope that Ho-oh makes some sort of significant appearence later on.

I mean, I like to believe the writers haven't forgotten about it. If this was a normal 26-episode anime, then I'd be almost positive that Ho-oh would return. However, as we all know, this is Pokemon: it's not like the writers haven't forgotten about things before.

The fact that it gets so many cameos, though, makes me suspicious - I mean, it's had a fly-through in the opening sequence of almost every Pokemon movie since GSC, after all, and a really well-animated shot in Movie 8's opening scene.

Maybe Ho-oh will come back to the forefront if we get a GSC remake? *wishful thinking*
