Talk about theme decks here. What decks do you have, what ones do you like over others, etc.

Me, for example, I like the Frost Ray deck. It's mostly for the Pokemon in it (e.g. Noctowl and Jolteon are two of my personal favorites) but having spent a few rounds with it in the TCGO I also like how it plays, too.
Hoothoot's basic attack is "Dual Draw" - each player draws two cards. It forms a natural combo with Noctowl, whose "Powerful Vision" attack does 10 damage for every card in the opponent's hand (easily capable of sweeping the AI due to its tendency to draw/have as many cards in hand as possible). This bird does not disappoint.

Vanilluxe takes some time to set up but its "ChillMAX" attack can hit for massive damage: flip a coin for every Water energy attached, and do 60 damage per heads. In games against the AI I've done as much as 300 damage (five heads of eight flips) with it.

Jolteon and Vaporeon are EX killers: Jolteon's "Electri-Defuse" prevents a Pokemon-EX from attacking back, while Vaporeon's "Gold Breaker" does +50 more damage to Pokemon EX. Vaporeon's also a competent healer: one Energy buys you 30 healing for everyone in the party, Vaporeon itself included.

The deck mascot is Glaceon, and once it's up, its Ability reduces the retreat cost of Plasma Pokemon by two, which basically lets you switch out your Eeveelutions for free, a definite advantage to have on hand. Its other attack does 60 damage + sleep, which is pretty good too.

Anyway, being Eevee-centric helps this deck set up quickly: You may only have four cards for Eevee itself, but you have six cards it can evolve into (2 each of 3 Eeveelutions).

By contrast, I've tried using the Solar Strike deck but found I don't particularly like it:
Volcarona's Leech Life attack is powerful (50 damage + 50 healing) but it can take a long time to set up given how the deck favors Water energy over Fire (12 vs. 6). Volcarona's other move, "Solar Transporter", is a gamble - draw 5 cards, keep any Plasma cards but discard the rest. And the deck doesn't actually seem to have have many Plasma cards in it....

Ursaring's Adrenaslash (50 damage + boost next attack by +50 damage) is amazing but it also takes time to set up (at least it's colorless, unlike Volcarona's Leech Life). Suicune is another EX killer, with its Ability making it totally immune to anything from a Pokemon EX.

Blastoise has an Ability that lets you attach as much Water energy as you like during your turn ... provided of course you have the Energy in hand to use it with. Blastoise is also a Pokemon you don't want to send in until he's completely stocked and ready (he needs 4 Energy to either attack or retreat).

Overall, in the times I've played this deck it feels like it just takes too long to set up a good game with -- I've lost several AI matches because I can't draw enough Energy to power attacks, can't draw any Basic Pokemon to replace the ones getting Knocked Out, or can't draw enough evolution cards to do build a good attacker / revenge killer with.

So what are some of your tales, favorites, whatnot?
