First off, sorry if this is the wrong place to put this but I couldn't really find anywhere that seemed right.

Basically, there are 3 of us, and we'll be playing HG/SS for an entire day. Like 12 hours. Perhaps multiple days, but that's not the point. And we will battle at the end to determine who gets the bragging rights.

What we'd like to do is impose some sort of 'rules' for our teams, each of us with different types of rules (so that we may have pokes that are in more than one team) but that force us to use more interesting pokes.

We've done this with D/P/Pt, and we had mammals/bipeds/red-orange-yellow pokemon (We all ended up with Kadabra!)

So, any suggestions? Anything, no matter how silly, is appreciated!! Though preferably not something like Base Stat Totals or height or anything we'd actually have to look up while we were playing. We thought about egg groups but it was too complicated.

My current Shoddy team is
Tyranitar (Shiny)
Bastiodon (Shiny)
Persian
Mamoswine
Aerodactyl
and Dragonite (Shiny)

Guess what it is.

Umm if Persian is a Sabertooth then there's maybe a Dinosaur-esque theme going on there??

I usually do Monotype teams for my theme teams, most whic are mono normal. The most origonalwas a mono Lickilicky team. :p

They both did suprizingly well (when used on PBR wifi >.>)

Wow, Nuzlocke sounds out of my league!

We've got a few ideas knocking about, including:

Pokemon that wouldn't hurt to touch
Pokemon without hair
Pokemon lighter than the trainer
Pokemon found at Orana Park (our local 'Zoo')
Pokemon with fangs

We're gunna put them all in a hat and draw out our 'rules'

Any more we should chuck in?

I've played in a number of mono-color tournaments. As the name suggests, your team must be made up of Pokemon that are only one color, with one wildcard allowed. Shinies also count, so for example a black Charizard counts as black and not orange like a normal Charizard. When played in standard, expect red and blue to be used most often (though the former took a big hit when Latias was banned). It's more....interesting in UU. Too bad it's a bit touchy to play when people ask "IS THIS X COLOR ENOUGH" or "CAN I USE ORANGE/PINK/WHATEVER ON A YELLOW/RED/BLUE TEAM".

you know, one of the small tournaments on smogon only allowed pokemon with teeth showing in their sprite. That was a fun one. I still say add in monotype/color. There is a good list of other ideas here, though some had been mentioned.

Light cup (weighing no more then 218 lb) could be fun.

Also, if you need help pick members for your team, LMK. I'm good at picking members for theme teams and explaining it. (I somehow explained how Oprah was white :p)

Some good options there, thanks guys. Colours are always fun. We thought about a Superhero based one, so basically if you can find a superhero (or villain) that corresponds with your Pokemon, its in. Great excuse to use Crobat.

And if we get stuck with only two team members, I'll be sure to hit you up Lazyboy.

Just one i thought of while reading this

Heat Rotom = Powered Toast Man (Hey, he's legitimate superhero)

I wanted to do a multiple head team once

could have weezing, exxegutor, dodrio, dugtrio, magneton (those are the ones I know, dunno about gen 3 or 4, at all >.>)

seems like a fun idea to me..
