Theoretically speaking...: An overview of recent theories

Which are there more of: Pokémon or theories about them? With the recent release of Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver Versions, and the upcoming release of Pokémon Black and White, many theories have sparked; some more known than others but none proven. Yet.

Anyway, I think there should be a forum of Bulbapedia for Theories, where people can report, look into and prove or rebut them.

I think all of the theories in the article are extremely interesting, but the one about a new "light" type is crap. how do you characterize light with a pokemon? with a glowing ball of sparkles? i don't think so.

if light does become a type in Gen V, then i'll eat my words. but for now, i say it won't ever happen.

I'm a believer in the ditto and Giovanni theories. As for TR... I don't know. I personally want the evil team to be an invading pokemon nation.

I'm not a fan of Light-type either; I just said fans thought of it. Like Bulbapedia EiC TTEchidna.

The only one I actually support is the idea that Giovanni commited suicide. Or at least attempted it.

I can't really see Isshu as a region made up of islands. Yes, there most likely will be islands, but the region will likely have a big mainland and few small islands. With a few that have towns.

I just don't like any of the other theories. They make no sense, IMO. Except maybe the whole Ditto/Mew thing, but I refuse to believe it.

Mew is said to be the ancestor of all pokemon, right? And there were supposed to have been many Mew at one point, so maybe the Mew all slowly.. "evolved"- in the Darwin sense- into the other pokemon, and Ditto was one of the earliest of these to evolve, and thus it retained many traits from the original pokemon....

I think Giovanni DID commit suicide. D: We already had suicide in Explorers of Darkness/Time, so I wouldn't say GF would avoid it again. I mean really, to a man like Giovanni, death would be FAR more preferable to a life of shame. Imagine being beaten by a prepubescent punk TWICE.

As for the Mew/Ditto thing, I think it's just a coincidence. D: The theory is sure making sense, but I just don't buy it.

And no to team Rocket in Isshu. No no no no nononoNONONONO NOOOOOO! We had that small-time mafia in all four generations now! I'm sick of them, and would like to either see Magma/Aqua fleshed out with a more sensible goal, or Team Galactic and/or Cyrus ready to destroy the world! for the love of God, no more goddamn Kanto, no more Oak, and especially no more Team Rocket!
...I overreacted there. But that is how I feel. No more Team Rocket.

I believe in the Gio suicide theory, but the Mew one is funny. Light type is not needed.

I can agree with the bit about Giovanni- that makes sense, or rather, I hope it's true. I'd love to see Team Rocket come back.

But I think the new place is going to be based off the the US- or rather, at the very least, New York. I'd love to see that... a lot.

As for a new type, I really hope it happens =X but I want a "Space" type Pokemon.
