Theory: Is Lysandre *X/Y spoilers* Cyrus? *D/P/Pl Spoilers*

Ok ok, I make to many of these, but this one will be short and sweet and totally goes against another theory I have: 'were Cyrus and Lysandre working together?' I got some of the content off of Lysandre's description on Bulbapedia.

Ok, so Lysandre and Cyrus have the same eye color: Blue. They look similar. Their goal is also similar; both involve trying to wipe out everyone for some purpose and using Legendary Pokémon to achieve it. They also use the same Pokémon: Murkrow/Honchkrow and a Gyarados. Lysandre's second in command Xerosic, uses a Crobat, another of Cyrus' Pokémon. Mable, one of Lysandre's scientists, uses a Houndoom and a Weavile, also Pokémon Cyrus had.

What I'm saying is that maybe Cyrus had fled to Kalos in Pokémon Diamond/Pearl and in Platinum he escaped the distortion world and landed in Kalos. And having failed, made another attempt to use legendary Pokémon to destroy the world from all the filth that makes it that way.

See? Short and to the point. So what do you guys think, criticize all you want. Or you could go to my other theory and see which one you agree with better. Either way, bring me the pain!

Your forgetting the fact that Lysandre and Sycamore worked together for many many years, which implied that they knew each other since their young days.

with this information, Lysandre may have never visited the Sinnoh region.

Well this could be countered with Diamond or Platinum. When Dialga was distorting time, it could have had Cyrus turned into a little kid once he had escaped the distortion world. But with you have saying that, I would think my theory on how Cyrus and Lysandre were working together would be more believable to you.
 
Not really.

It is a really unique that they wanted the same thing. I really can't believe it, mostly because Cryrus was pretty much middle aged back then, and I think that new generation games (not remake games) would be placed in the future, right? That would make Lysandre really young back then to be working with a middle age man, especially since Lysandre and Sycamore are both middle aged as well by their appearance.

Well I know that some of these theories can be easily countered. But it's pretty interesting to think of the game this way.

I personally do not think of the games that way, that new generations happen in the future, but BW and BW2 are the only exceptions. But I am not trying to change your point of view in the games. If you believe that, then my theories will be hard to believe.

Actually, in D/P/Pt, Cyrus is 27. Looker confirms this in-game. (nonetheless, X/Y could easily take place 12-15 years after D/P/Pt, so by then Cyrus would indeed be middle aged)

So, technically, Lysandre and Cyrus could be roughly the same age

I still don't think they're the same person though, and I somewhat doubt they worked together, as we also know that Cyrus was a good, but asocial student, who preferred the company of machines over that of humans/pokémon, so I can't really see him working together with anyone (of course, he has his Team Galactic, but those are more his underlings. If he worked together with Lysandre at some point, it would suggest they were equals)

Well here is what I'm going to try to counter-counter with.

I believe they are the same, for Lysandre was a little more softhearted toward Pokémon, that leads me to think that Cyrus had to rely on his Pokémon to survive in the distortion world. And with the weapon wiping the world of Pokémon and all of not-team flare members, he would be able to live a life in peace, without the 'emotions'

In the announcement room where you andLooker spy on Cyrus' Speech, he claims Cyrus being 27 (although the way the sentence was formed may wlso mean that Looker was 27 at that time, albeit it seems more likely to be Cyrus).
