(I think it was Viridian) that had a trainer in there with like a Lv50 Meganium, Typhlosion and Feraligatr in it...

If anyone recalls, this trainer changed his Pokémon lineup to match the last player you battled with over Game-Link cable...

Will this building return? If so, will it house the same function, only this time with your last Wi-Fi match?

Anyone else remember this 'ere building?

i think it's pretty obvious it will return. after all, it was in the original games. idk what its purpose will be, this time, but... yeah.

The building was called the Trainer House or something like that. Anyways, good question!

I want it to be a facility where tough trainers i.e. Gym Leaders, Eusine and maybe even some randomers (would be an interesting idea IMO, just random tough, named Trainers like Cal, but more of them and different gengers, classes, etc, there could be, I dunno, 10 random ones?) come to fight. Like the Battleground in Platinum.

I say Trainer Club, open only to the best of the best. In other words, Gym Leaders, Important NPC's, and people who somehow manage to bribe their way in (I want to fight my mom)

That building was fun! Except since I got a mystery gift from the girl on Pokemon Stadium 2, I got to fight HER team instead! Pretty cool!

That is pretty cool. I never had Stadium or Stadium 2, so I was limited to Cal or my friend's team. (I can't really remember having very many battles there, just one. I remember the trainer sprite, which is just the male player sprite, but I don't know if it was the default team or my friend's...)

If they keep the Trainer House, it should serve the same purpose as the Battleground in Platinum. Have it be a place to re-challenge your rival (it's hilarious that your Platinum rival can't get in the BG!), Gym Leaders, random NPCs, and like the original Trainer House, the last person you battled over wireless. (Could they the incorporate something with PokeWalker?)

Frankly, I wouldn't like Silver being in the club. He wouldn't like it anyways (and he's a thief so if Elm stopped by Silver'd be in trouble).

So, Rival rematches should be elsewhere (though at the league, jsut as you're about to go refight them... eh, I'm not jammin on that)

I remember the Trainer House, and I really liked rebattling Cal with his three Johto starters for easy experience. I think I also Mystery Gifted with my friend one time, so I was amazed when I went to battle Cal and instead faced my friend's team!

I can definitely imagine the Trainer House remaining in HG/SS, and there are definitely ways that they can upgrade it whilst leaving the basic concept intact. Giving it the role of the Battleground ala Platinum's is a good use, but I can also see Mystery Gifting with friends being important.

It was not your last Game Link match, it was your last Mystery Gift partner.

I liked Cal, I hope he returns. If he doesn't, it's not a serious loss.

Just like Buck's House on D/P/Pt, awesome! :D

Gah! Well I wasn't FAR off!

Me too. I heard she had a pretty nasty Mr. Mime.

It was not your last Game Link match, it was your last Mystery Gift partner.
But other than Wonder Cards, you can't exchange anything with friends over Mystery Gift. At least so far... I hope HGSS changes everything...

Maybe if they retain the Mystery Gift from GSC in HGSS, and let you exchange real gifts with friends over local wireless, Wi-Fi or even infrared (for nostalgia's sake, and because the HGSS cards have infrared recievers in them) then the HGSS Trainer House will serve the same purpose as it did in Gen II.

Speaking of Battle Tower:
Tag Partners: Silver, Eusine, Gold/Soul (depending on who was chosen at the start), and two others...
I doubt Red or Blue will be partners, as they're too good.
Anyone have any suggestions?

What if the Trainer House combines itself with the Battleground and functions as both?

By that, I mean it allows you to battle Gym Leaders/notable people repeatedly, but in the mix of opponents, people you Mystery Gifted with and/or Cal appear too.

This is a teensy bit off topic, but back in the day, I would use it to set my Smeargles' moves. Simply get another cart, make it's team with one poke with only the move you want it to Sketch, Mystery gift, battle, and presto! Smeargle Sketches the move! I had a lot of fun with that. I think I had a Smeargle with Spore, Thunderbolt, and... shoot, can't remember. Ah well. I'm probably not the only one who discovered this little trick.
