Is anyone else seriously annoyed at keep hearing that?

I mean, is their like a template for a Pokemon?

What do you guys think? Is their any logical reason why the new Pokemon aren't "Pokemon" enough?

Everyone always says that with every new generation. And as time goes on they either whine enough to leave the fandom or get used to them and then wonder why they ever thought they didn't look like pokemon. *shrugs* Seen it time and time again.

*hee* I actually rather hear that than the topic of 'OMG, pokemon is dieing!" over and over again.
As for what a pokemon should look like, they are make up animals anyway so the sky is the limit :)

A wise friend of mine said this...

"If it is a Pokemon, it looks like a Pokemon."

If it looks like a Pokemon, appears in Pokemon, acts like a Pokemon, then it must be a Pokemon.

I actually like the DP Pokemon than the other generations. I don't care what they look like. If I like them, it's all right in my book

Although I haven't seen anyone actually say they think the new Pokemon don't look like 'real' Pokemon, the majority of those sorts of people probably just don't think they are based on real world things that are obvious enough for themselves.

So, probably not.

pokemon are pokemon... its like actual animals there are millions of different species so why not pokemon. personally they look like pokemon to me.

Love how this thread is just to whine and complain about those idiots.

Yes, I hate that too. Very much so, so very much so.

Everyone says the same thing went the new guys come in. After a bit we will all stop thinking there weird.

Yes. I agree with everyone so far. I remember back in GSC when I thought it was anything out of the ordinary for Scyther to evolve. I remember when I thought of Gen II Pokémon to be anything more special than Gen I Pokémon. Now, unconsciously, I've assimilated them together into the Old Pokémon category, while I have the RSE guys still as "New". Soon as we get D/P here, though, I'm thinking that the Gen III Pokémon won't be anything special, and Gen IV will take their place.

It all happens subconsciously. Now if only Nintendo would have the starters from previous generations be available in the wild, then we'd be getting somewhere. Sure, have the same-generation starters stay only in the Professor's lab, but a Pokémon like Quilava seems like it should be wild someplace, at least in non-Johto adventures.

It'll stop as soon as the whiners realize nothing they do will change anything, and then they'll either deal with it or leave until the 5th generation - I've seen a lot of RS haters wandering around on the GameFAQs Diamond board. I figure at this point they're either happy or gone again, though.

I think the 'new' gen takes a while to get used to but as soon as we do the're just like the rest before them

I too like the idea of Starters running free to roam the land as long as it is not their gen.
