Does anybody here remember two years ago when PETA release a video game rip off of Super Mario Bros to promote their anti-KFC campaign.

Well guess what... they just released their sequel. Only this time, they target McDonalds and it's mascot, Ronald McDonald. Just go to http://www.mccruelty.com/SuperChickSisters.aspx and you can obtain your very own copy of New Super Chick Sisters.

I haven't actually played the game yet myself, but I did see a let's play on Youtube. It's actually a little better than the original, which isn't really saying much given the incredibly low standard it set. But there is a level in space, which is actually pretty cool (despite the fact the this phenomena is never explained).

Other than that, it's the same retread of the original, Pam Anderson acting as a spokesperson for PETA, followed by her getting kidnapped by Ronald McDonald, rather than Colonel Saunders. And of course once again, Nugget and Chickette, the lovable, unlovable, ripoffs of Mario and Luigi, must rescue her. You get the the same in game elements, now with killer hamburgers in place of the Colonel Saunders spider-bots (I think that's what they're called). And once again, the Tofu Powerup makes you big.

Oh yes! And once again, Mario and Luigi, the very stars of the franchise this game rips off, appear in cut scenes where they are once again portrayed as dimwits, who once again answer the call to rescue Pam, only to once again be beaten to the call by Nugget and Chickette. Also, the Mario Brothers are once again booed for 'cruelty to Yoshis.' But at least this time, they didn't get beat up for their anti-Koopa Troopa treatment. Oh, and Bowser even gets to be in these cut scenes now, but there's nothing really remarkable about that.

What else? Oh yeah... like they did with KFC in the last game, this game has various characters inform Nugget/Chickette, and the player, about the so-called cruelty McDonalds inflicts on the chickens that are going to be dead one way or another (although some of them actually give gameplay tips, which is kind of nice). And once again, you are given the password to play as Pam, once you beat the game as Nugget or Chickette.

But there's more. You can play in five different languages, and there is a kid friendly version (oh joy). Plus, the two female chicks whom you play as now have Italian mustaches.

Does this really belong in this forum? This screams of the Entertainment forum.

I just put it here because it involves PETA, which has to do with politics, as the the subject of their new game. But I guess it can be moved if it belongs more in the Entertainment forum.

Oh PETA! (where is a facepalm pic or emote when I need one)

But seriously, wouldn't Nintendo be able to do something about this?

So, while being big, round, and fat... the two female chicks have also developed Kirby-like qualities and have eaten the two Mario Brothers behind the scenes... that's the best explanation I can come up with for them having the mustaches...

It would be even worse if you pressed the space bar, which inflates Chick's mouth, allowing you to steal someone's ability.

Good god. I wonder why Nintendo haven't steamrolled PETA with a loon dressed as a rooster barreling with a very large egg.

Wait. Seriously? That's really ... pathetic. Can't put any "animals" to any practical use now.

Only one thing can describe this lame mario clone:

I'm assuming they've made it a parody. Under the United States copyright law, they really can't do anything about it. To quote the specific section:
Notwithstanding the provisions of sections 106 and 106A, the fair use of a copyrighted work, including such use by reproduction in copies or phonorecords or by any other means specified by that section, for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching (including multiple copies for classroom use), scholarship, or research, is not an infringement of copyright. In determining whether the use made of a work in any particular case is a fair use the factors to be considered shall include—
(1) the purpose and character of the use, including whether such use is of a commercial nature or is for nonprofit educational purposes;
(2) the nature of the copyrighted work;
(3) the amount and substantiality of the portion used in relation to the copyrighted work as a whole; and
(4) the effect of the use upon the potential market for or value of the copyrighted work.
The fact that a work is unpublished shall not itself bar a finding of fair use if such finding is made upon consideration of all the above factors.

In other news, this is just another lame parody game.

Yep. They're a hypocritical troop of stooges. I still can't believe them over this.
And for the record, this isn't a parody; it's a borderline insult.

Depending on the use, they could potentially still lose a copyright suit over a "parody" like this.

I just grow more and more weary over PETA. They'd be such a great organization if they weren't so outlandish.

You'd have to see the opening cut scene. For those who don't want to, it's called:

Double Delicious
