the old games i think had some awsome features that werent carried on like in gold/silver you could headbutt trees i mean how cool is that headbutt a tree and find a bird

I miss how your mother would save your money for you in Gold/Silver/Crystal and sometimes buy you useful items with your savings. I also miss the telephone system in GSC. Sure, it kind of came back in Gen III, but eh...

Oh, I also miss the Radio.

Basically, I miss Gen II.

Not much. The new games tend to keep everything from the previous games and improve upon them.

But one thing I do miss was getting to battle Red with his level 90 Pokemon. I'm surprised they never did something like that again, but this time with all the other game protagonists from G/S and R/S in DP.

They were never at 90 and only one reached 80.

I miss a Safari Zone that was actually fun to explore, and Dive--though they could have made the swiming a bit faster and have more stuff to do under water.

I miss being surprised by a new pokemon I had never seen before. Now I know every pokemon by heart. Not really the games fault though.

There are a few small things I'd love to see implimented into newer games again.

The Apricorn Balls were an interesting idea. I like the idea of forging a special Pokéball to be used on certain Pokémon. Why they haven't appeared in games past GSC I'll never know... They could be grown the same way Berries are if you wanted more, or they could have both "plant growing systems".

Dive is another idea that could have been expanded upon, being able to find entire underwater ecosystems would be kinda neat, and it would be the dullness of just surfing everywhere.

Your mother saving money for you is also a neat idea that needs to be seen again.

There are also certain Pokémon that could use more appearences and use ingame. Mareep is one, but there are others.

The biggest things that I missed from the older games were Dive as an HM and the Match Call from Emerald. It was like a cool and better version of the PokéGear and I would have liked those to have continued.

I miss fighting Red and kicking Pikachu's ass as well as Team Rocket.

Gen II wasn't perfect. It borrowed way too much on the Gen I games.

Hence why sequels afterward didn't try to copy GSC's apparent "success".

Why on earth people are so obsessed with it I have no idea.

I agree that Gen II had a lot of problems and it could have been better, but I would think that the idea of traveling back to Kanto is one reason why most people get nostalgia for Gen II.

GS is now 10 years old, so people get nostalgic. Another few years from now and you'll see people say the same about R/S.

I miss a fun safari zone. I miss the telephone system. I liked when mom held on to some of the money for you. I loved going back to kanto. I liked the poke-radio mixing up the tunes. I liked all the secret items you could get only on certain days.

Sometimes I miss the easier breeding techniques, but not often.

I miss going to back to Kanto. And like I said, in the 'Tedious Things' thread, I miss berries growing on their own, as well.

I miss going back to kanto and forging pokeballs O^O

I hope they either remake GSC and keep everything but make it better, or put some of these elements into later games D:

I'd really like to get to go to different regions.

I know this is not a great thing, but I miss pokeblocks and how you had to hit the button at the right time to make it spin faster. I kept challenging myself so I could press the button on the right time, think I got around 110 for fastest speed on machine.

Diving too, I'd hope in future games they could implement that back, look so much cooler on DS graphics or better
