Think they could release the Porygon and Dratini episodes now?

Suppose they did decide to show these, do you think it would be safe now? They could slow down the lights of the Porygon episode and I guess the Dratini episode would be okay if they colored the guns green like they did in One Piece.

I know it's highly doubtful since we're getting to Diamond and Pearl and these episodes are so old, but you'd think they would about now.

Porygon's got a bad PR about it, so it's doubtful.

And as for Dratini, I doubt Pokemon USA has any plans to unearth that fossil, especially in this age of Jack Thompson.

Though it would be nice.

The porygon episode is banned worldwide - the Japanese producers wouldn't give them the episode.

Dratini, possibly, but it would be so far out of order that it probably wouldn't be worth it.

Porygon, no way. Japan banned it. Although according to Maddie Blaustein, 4Kids did dub it, but it will never be aired.

I'm more interested in the Whiscash episode.

Dratini might be on the Season 1 DVD's as an extra.

Porygon, no, never. It's been deemed a hazard by the Japanese government and it is never getting free.

I don't know why people keep clinging onto this false hope that the episodes will ever be released in English. It's never happening. End of story.

I'm more curious about the Barboach episode, and why its never been released in the US despite having nothing objectionable about it.

Of course, they could... but who (other than us) cares? Target audience would be like "WTF? Who is that ch1x0r with orange hair?".

No real reason... other that adding it as bonus to IL Boxset, but... probably no.

They're too far in the past now to even care about.

PUSA will be too busy dubbing the brand new D/P season, not going back to ancient episodes from 1998 and satisfying a few fanboys on the internet.

For the record, Misty and Psyduck appear on Pokémon Learning League so PUSA have no issues with using her even for something aimed entirely at a younger audience. Not to mention that this would interest more than just "a few fanboys on the internet."

Lol Scott, you can turn anything into a May/Misty or May/Hikari debate, can't ya?

But, the only one I REALLY wanna see is the Barboach episode. Do not question by bizarre fetishes, but it must be seen by human eyes so we may appreciate the phaillicity of Barboach.

What does the Tauros or Porygon episode have to do with Misty? I mean, I know Misty is in those episodes, but that has nothing to do with the reason for a small percentage of hardcore Pokemon fanatics on the forum wanting to see those episodes dubbed.

It's become nothing more than a trivial aspect now, people just want to see the Porygon episode because of the impact it had on the series, not because its a skipped episode. (As proven, very few people care about the missing Barboach episode)

How many people whined on the forums about the skipped Barboach episode when we up to that point in Japan? Very few people. How many people nowadays REALLY want to see that episode? Very few people.

Whereas people have been wanting to see the Porygon/Dratini episodes since 1998.

The fact is as Dogasu said, why people still cling to the hope that those episodes will ever be dubbed at this point is beyond me. The Barboach episode didn't even air in Japan, why in the world would it come here?

Do Pokémon fans have to whine about everything? We can want to see an episode without whining about it.
How many people nowadays REALLY want to see that episode? Very few people.
And on what grounds are you basing that on?
Whereas people have been wanting to see the Porygon/Dratini episodes since 1998.
And if the Barboach episode had been set to air in 1998 then it would be in the exact same situation. So what?

Honestly, you're the only whiner I can see on this thread.

I think we should have a poll on how many want to see the Barboach episode.

Me

The Barboach episode did look like a poor filler from the preview, even the filler boy looked miserable.

You've got to feel sorry for the writers and all the animators who wasted their time working on that episode, not to mention the money involved, especially since it never came out.

The Barboach episode didn't even air in Japan, why in the world would it come here?

Because the reason it wasn't aired in Japan was specific to that time and region and has nothing to do with Pokemon's larger audience?

Still, Pocket Monsters is a Japanese product, first and foremost. They're not obligated to release an episode they banned themselves to your or anyone else.
