This has come up a lot, and... I wanna hear your opinions.

Game-Rocket, or Animé-Rocket?

A fair amount of people I know in real life as well as a bunch of people on forums don't quite seem to understand something about the group *points to Team Rocket*.
Now most people assume in the games, they are like they are in the Animé. Always screwing up, doing really hurr-murr-durr things and the like, and generally being a light hearted bunch.

But a lot of Pokémon fans I've met seem to forget, in the games, Team Rocket kill a Marowak, one who was saving her babies. Light hearted bunch of guys? Not really...
Don't the chop off a bunch of tails off poor, random Slowpoke as well?
Oh and lets not forget holding everyone hostage in the Radio Tower of Johto... or the fact they forced hundreds of Magikarp are the Lake of Rage to evolve.

My question is, do you, of Bulbagarden, prefer the light hearted Jessie and James kinda Team Rocket, or the game-Team Rocket, who are seemingly ruthless when it comes to it. (And think about it, they killed a Marowak, what's to say they haven't killed anything else?)

I prefer, personally, the game Team Rocket. They're a lot more badass. :D



Oh and as Daxdiv reminded me, they also own a Casino, and lets not forget the time their leader, Giovanni, held the president of Silph. Co hostage!

I like the anime TR better because they're so easy to laugh at. They add much-needed lightheartedness to it. The game TR is likeable because they're actually evil, I mean THEY FUCKING KILLED A MAROWAK. That's what an evil organization is there for, amirite?

But I always liked Anime TR better.

Oh, and BTW Takoto, it's "I wanna hear your opinions." With an r.

I still haven't learned to proof read titles.
Then again, I haven't slept for three nights straight so can you blame me for making mistakes? xD

Got to go with the game, if only because of how bad ass they were in the games. Taking over Saffron, killing a Pokemon, and running an underground casino to name a few are the few things that made the game Rocket more enjoyable for me. That and how they're able to avoid the arm of the law as it seems that the police weren't able to do anything about them.
 
I like the anime TR better only because they add comedy to the show. I like comedy :) Otherwise I would've picked the TR game since they're evil and truly lived up to their name :)

Ooo. I'm gonna add the Casino bit to the first post. : D You have a good point.
 
The game, mainly because in the anime, they are a bunch of screw ups (the trio) where they always get taken out by the same guys (ash, brock, pikachu). In the games, though, they are acutially serious and the only person that can take them out is you, and in dp, your rival and the champion. Also, they arent the "I WANT LEGENDAIRY POWER" type of group as in DP and RSE. They also arent as predictable as they are in the anime as well, where you KNOW tr every time and what will happen. Though, there are some exceptions like the lugia episodes,
where the other guys look like they are going to win, and have it all set up, then the trio betrays TR.
 
Takoto, you seem to act as if Jessie, James and Meowth make up the entirety of Team Rocket when they are only a small insignificant amount that gets massive screen time because of their involvement with the protagonists. Team Rocket as a whole in the anime is probably just as bad.

Yeah, that casino was also their cover for a base in Celedon City, but they still owned that thing. I'm pretty sure if it wasn't for Red, something similar to what happen in Saffron would happen. Though I still question to this day, how did Team Rocket take over Saffron and how no one even noticed that? If we were to compare the teams in the games, Aqua, Magma, Galactic and Rocket, I would have to be a tie between Rocket and Galactic.

I just can't take the TRio seriously. And I kind of prefer my villains, you know, villainy. Doing evil stuff. Not deluding themselves and placing all of their money and effort into stealing a useless electric rodent while being doomed to fail and having better options. I know the TRio isn't ALL of Team Rocket, but quite frankly, when was the last time the real Team Rocket got any decent screentime?

Besides, Game!TR owns a casino. ♥

The group, Team Rocket as a whole, in the Animé... aside from Giovanni creating Mewtwo, I can't actually remember them doing anything THAT evil.

Game Team Rocket all the way.

They're actually scary and if they actually existed would be horrifying.

Nothing beats a lil' darkness in pokemon too. The new groups are a little lame compared to them.
 
I like the TRio, there my favourite, funny and evil(somewhat) at the same time. The ingame TR's evil actions don't phase me much, and aren't really that scary or dark, I mean in real life people do similar acts whether there legal or not. In my opinon Team Galactic is more eviler in terms of what would happen if there plan had worked.
 
The game Team Rocket proves a much more dangerous foe for the hero, thus making the hero look cooler. In the anime, they're too weak and clumsy to be taken seriously. After all, what's more impressive: slaying a dragon, or swatting a dragonfly?
 
The game Team Rocket scared my little brother in his first time playing Red. When has the anime done that?

Because they aren't central to the plot. Its not as if they don't have their own things going on in the underground that isn't as big as destroying the universe.

Just because its not shown, doesn't mean it doesn't happen.
