We all know about about the rumored Psychic, Dark and Fighting starters for Sinnoh. And it was true. I was just wondering. Who made that rumor? I never found that out.
 
I heard it was some bored guy on a forum, don't take my word on it though.

I think the person's name(username) was Purple Kecleon.
 
They won't be starters. The starters are always Grass, Fire, and Water.

Dual-types, anyone?

Though, honestly, I'd love it if they broke away from tradition. I get that Water>Fire>Grass>Water is probably the easiest to understand Type matchup for new fans, but it's gotten so repetative. Especially since they've repeated the Fire-type starter's Type-combination two generations in a row.
 
^ I didn't really get why grass was effective against water at first.

Maybe they could have the whole Dark/Psych/Fight choice as a secondary starter, later in the game.
 
But there's a problem with that trio, because Psychic moves can't affect Dark at all. I don't think there are any trios besides Grass/Water/Fire where each type is weak to one and strong against the other. Psychic/Fighting/Dark is just a little unbalanced.

They'll have to tweak the Dark type for Gen. V if Psychic/Fighting/Dark will be used.

Actually, there are some more 'type triangles':
The only possible starter triangles (i.e. three types that are weak to one another in a rock-paper-scissors fashion and the same with resistances in reverse) other than the traditional Fire/Water/Grass are Rock/Fighting/Flying, Fire/Rock/Steel and Grass/Poison/Ground. (Before you send me an error report about it, NO, DARK/PSYCHIC/FIGHTING IS NOT A TYPE TRIANGLE. See the FAQ entry on the subject for details.) We are not likely to get such starter triangles, however; Fire, Water and Grass are both traditional and make sense as representatives of three elements while the other triangles are pretty much out-of-the-blue incidental relations that happen to emerge from the type chart.

I remember seeing that image ages ago, right after Nintendo said they were making D/P, I think. I don't remember who started the rumour, or if it was even said, but I do remember someone pointing out that the kangaroo one looked a bit like a Neopet...

Chimchar family-Fire/Fighting
Pinplup family- Water/Steel
Turtwig family- Grass/Ground

There is absolutely no Dark or Psychic starter...so what are you talking about?

Hold on a second, Purple Kecleon did those? I never knew... I've always been a fan of hers... (she was the one who made the fake Sky Shaymin~)
I guess I'm not surprised... I mean, she can pull off Sugimori's style so easily.

If they broke the starter tradition, then we would never get a new Fire type.
