Bulbapedia lists Cyrus's age as "unknown". Now, I know that people were suspect of Coronis's translation (including Coronis himself) that put him at 27, but it was confirmed by other sources since, including Japanese sites.

Going waaaaay back in the history for the page, I find that the age was removed with the comment "no one said he was 27". Where, then, are these people getting that age from, including people actively playing Platinum in their native language?

If this somehow *is* some sort of elaborate misunderstanding, what's the line then?

27? Seems kinda young for a cult leader...

Is the supposed source Platinum? Or Special?

It's supposed to be a line in Platinum.

The hell of it is that he seems to vary wildly in age depending on who's drawing him. In DPA he could easily be 27, in Special it looks like he's been dead for five years, in the Platinum intro he looks late 20s/early 30s, and the Sugimori art had people guessing anywhere from 20 to 60. He's kinda like Glacia in that regard (except she never looked dead in any incarnation).

I suppose the best thing we can do, if it is indeed a line from Platinum, is to just wait until next month.

Maybe he became the Team Galaxy leader at age 27, and that's what they're referencing? He certainly looks older than that.

If that's it that should still be in the article.

Thing is that I know people who've played Platinum who swear it's in there and other people who've played it who swear it's not.

I agree with waiting for EnPt.

...oddly. Another cult leader became the leader of his cult at the same age... hmmmmmm.

It made me laugh out loud when I heard the song "Rocky Mountain High" because it's about a guy who climbs a mountain and realizes how much humanity sucks, and the opening line is "he was born in the summer of his 27th year".

Goddammit even the hippies are Galactics.

History of the Pokemon World? Pardon?

If it's any sort of official timeline, I wonder if the age applies to DP or just Platinum (since you know how strange these things can be).

And moreover if, as I was trying to get to with citing how different he looks in the different incarnations but for some reason never outright said, he actually *would* be the same age in all the incarnations. Because we know Oak sure isn't (in the series he's just over 50, in Special he's around Pryce's age, and in the games he's got a 15-year-old granddaughter...)

Yeah, Pokemon is weird like that. This is no straight timeline between game, anime and manga. Unlike the Star Wars universe.

On the subject of Oak: I suspect he is no older than 60 in the games, as they reference him being Rowan's junior and Rowan states his own age as 60.

"Cyrus founded Team Galactic at 27" definitely sounds like something Looker would say to you, I think.

The thing is that if it refers to Cyrus founding it at 27, that should still go on the entry...and also if that's the line, then why do people who insist they've seen the line say it gives his *current* age as 27? Because according to something else, the team's been around for at least five years.

People who say it's not in there don't list any similar lines or anything it could have been mistaken for; they say that "27" doesn't come up at all.

Gyaaaaah, this is why we need the Fame Checker back.
