Looks...interesting. Not a big fan of the costumes, but the plot shows promise. Also nice to see all of the main characters making appearances in the trailer (and Agent Coulson from the Iron Man films). Asgard looks nice, at least, even if the costumes look...awkward.

Kenneth Branagh, in my mind, is just about the perfect choice for a Thor flick. If only because of the art style inherent in the movie. He knows how to shoot and/or direct that kind of massive scenery. And how to direct that kind of script, language-wise.

I will admit, it does look like he did a good job. I definitely get different tones from the Asgard and Earth portions, even from Thor himself in both settings.

Plus, he managed to keep Coulson pretty much the same as in the Iron Man films, without making Thor into Iron Man 3.

Well, he does a helluva lot of Shakespeare adaptations, and there are plenty of moments in Thor that feel like watered-down Shakespearean sensibilities. There are a few shots in that trailer that remind me of his Henry V.

I haven't been following this movie, but I saw a picture of the costumes not that long ago, and they definitely gave off a sci-fi vibe. Not at all what I'd expect Norse Gods to wear, but not unappealing, either.

Also, I had no idea that Branagh was directing this. I really enjoyed the adaptation of Hamlet he did back in the 90s. I wouldn't mind seeing the Magic Flute he did a few years back, either; but haven't had a chance yet. All in all, I like his work... he wouldn't have been the first to spring to mind upon thinking of a live-action Thor movie, but I think he can pull it off.

Well, one of the basic tenants of the movie is going to be "it's not magic, it's just REALLY advanced technology" (which is actually pointed out in the trailer by Thor to Jane Foster. And, admittedly, "Gods as super-advanced beings" isn't anything new, but it does fit some of the original Kirby ideas).
