So, ever since building a team consisting entirely of Bug-types (and a Pokemon that evolves from a Bug-type but isn't a Bug-type; Aaron used one on his team even in Platinum, so I guess I can count it as a Bug), I've reevaluated my favorite type; Bug's managed to knock Steel off the spot for "my favorite type." Also, there aren't any Bug-types I really dislike, honestly; even though Volbeat's my least favorite Bug, he still has a goofy charm to him.

My favorite bugs are probably Scizor, Golisopod, Scolipede, Joltik, Volcarona and Buzzwole.

Bug-types are neat. They're super effective on a nifty little assortment of types, and there are great designs for many Bug typed Pokémon. Scizor, Forretress, Scolipede and Anorith are some unique ones I like, and I also have an odd fondness for pupa Pokémon like Metapod, Charjabug, Whirlipede and Swadloon.

Edit: Oh yeah, Surskit and Golisopod are also awesome. Plus Shedinja and Crustle.

Gen VII really has some good bugs. Golisopod and Vikavolt are some of my new favorites, and I quite enjoyed using a Golisopod for most of my SM playthrough.

I also like Heracross, Scyther, Scizor, Galvantula, and Yanmega.

It's a very underrated type, but it isn't going to bump Steel or Fire out from my top two favorites.

It's not my absolute favorite type, but it's still an excellent type. It went from something nearly unusable to having some of the most respectable Pokemon and moves to choose in any environment. I guess even before the type got a massive boost in stats, moves, and type combinations, the bugs offered were still cute.

My favorite Bug-type is probably Scolipede-- I'm always alternating between it and Scyther. Caterpie and Sewaddle are also too cute.

bug is a good type. It's the kind of type that tends to have designs I appreciate. Competitively, it's such a mixed bag defensively and especially offensively, so I kind of appreciate when bug-types ascend above those limitations and end up useful anyways. Also, two of my very favorite moves -- infestation and leech life -- are bug-type, for whatever that's worth...

suppose my favorite bug-types would be vivillon, araquanid, ledian, accelgor, m-pinsir, and vikavolt. I also like vespiquen, beautifly, masquerain, parasect, spinarak, and ribombee.

Oh more good things Gen VII did for Bug types:
Gave Leech Life 80 Base Power, and made it a TM.

Pretty much means there is little reason to use X-Scissor anymore if a Pokemon can learn both, which is a shame since X-Scissor was one of my favorite moves introduced in Gen IV.

I hope USUM give Leech Life to more Physical attacker Bugs. Scizor, Heracross, Scolipede, Pinsir... They'd do great with it, even though it biologically wouldn't make sense for Heracross and Pinsir to learn it, since they're based on herbivorous bugs.

Scizor with Roost and Leech Life, as well as only one weakness? Man, that would be bulky as hell.

Swords Dance
Roost
Leech Life
Bullet Punch

With Leftovers and a more defense oriented EV/IV spread, that will have quite some longevity.

if you want a bug that never dies, why not give it a mega stone?

Because I'd personally rather use Mega Metagross, but that's because Metagross is my favorite Pokemon, and Mega Metagross kicks ass.

I have used Mega Scizor though, and I did enjoy using it quite a bit.

Bug is such an underrated type. Turns out there are many good bug types out there competitively. My favorites are (Bug/Steel grants only 1 weakness), Volcorona (Has access to Quiver Dance which boosts it's Special stats and speed), and Golisopod (That beast looks awesome)

And as for type advantages, it is pretty decent. It beats Grass, Dark, and Psychic (can't explain Dark's weakness to Bug but whatever).

And it didn't start out as a good type (there was only Leech Life which had a base power of like 40 around the time, Pin Missile, and Twineedle). But overtime, the type became much better as better bug-type Pokémon and better Bug-type moves were introduced. Yep. It's a bit underrated, but it is still a very good type now.

Drapion, though it evolves from a Bug type and is used by the Bug-type Elite Four member, is actually Dark/Poison type.

I'd say it still counts if you want to use a Bug themed team, but not a mono-type team.

(Oh yeah... I totally didn't forget about that :v whoops xDDD)

Well nvm then. Bugs are a bit down on my list now :x

Eh, bug-types are pretty hit or miss with me. Some are really cute like Cutiefly, Mothim, and Wurmple, and they are pretty strong in their final forms as well. Ribombee, for example, was one of my best Pokemon in Sun. But others are either really ugly, rather weak, or a combo of both. I rarely use bugs on my team simply because they have a lot of weaknesses and there are other types that can do their job better with a better look.

I'm definitely a fan of Bug types and always have been. Scizor is probably one of my top 20 favorite Pokemon, as is Ribombee. Used a Ribombee in Sun and it was possibly my best team member. In Black 2, I used both Leavanny and Galvantula and I really liked both of them a lot. In one of my Kanto games, I used a Beedrill. And I've used Butterfree a couple times too. I think my favorite unevolved Bug type to use is Surskit. Overall, Bug is one of my favorites--probably top 10 favorite types.

I like bug types. I think they have some cool designs, especially the bugs from gens 5 and 7. It's not my favorite type, but it's up there in the top 10 and maybe even the top 5.

For me, it depends on the gen for Bug to truly shine or not. Gens V and VII were very kind to the Bug-type, giving it plenty of options. Galvantula, Leavanny, and occasionally Escavalier and Crustle quickly earned spots on my various teams in Gen V for coolness and versatility, and Vikavolt, Ribombee and Golisopod are big favorites of mine in Alola. Plus recently they actually made Leech Life usable now, making it the strongest physical draining move. After the type was largely put down in the early days, it's good to see that such an underrated type can actually shine so brightly. While some Mons can be hits-and-misses, and in some gens the type is largely neglected (I'm lookin' at you, Kalos), but it can be an overall effective type if one knows how to maximize its strengths. While I won't put it in my Top 5 type list, the Bug type is still valuable to me.

I don't really like using it, since a total of 7 types resist it. At least with Grass, it has three valuable resistances. The one Bug-type I often use is Volcarona, and even then I prefer to run Giga Drain and HP Ground/Ice over Bug Buzz.
