So, the Summer Camp arch has come to an end (at least for those watching the dub), and we've met Tierno, Trevor and Shauna, who look like they could well make up the "rivals" for this series.

I think it makes sense we can get a discussion thread on them, don't you think? What do you think on them so far? And who is your favourite?

I didn't think I would like them at first, but I grew to like them the 2nd episode in. Favorite is probably Shauna, who isn't as hopeless as she is in the games.

I liked all of them, though Tierno is probably my favorite. His dancing battling style with Squirtle was always amusing to see and brought entertainment and unpredictability to the battles. I also loved how he used dancing as a means to do other things, like climbing the cliff in the Pokemon Orienteering competition. I'm glad Ash was so inspired by Tierno's battling that he wanted to utilize dancing in his own battling style, showing how Tierno had an impact on Ash.

Shauna was good. I liked how, unlike the games, she actually has a goal that she is working towards. It was also great that she helped kick-start Serena's activity by battling her and helping her find a goal for herself by telling her of Pokemon Showcases.

Trevor was a good character, but not particularly interesting compared to the other 2 imo. His goal, which is kinda lame as it is, obviously wasn't going to be fleshed out within the camp competitions so there wasn't much that could have been done with him. Also, unlike the other 2, Trevor didn't really do anything for Clemont, even though they were kind of set up as rivals. But still, I thought he was okay, and I guess there's always time for him to be brought back to either develop himself or make an impact on Clemont.
