Thoughts on VR Technology?

Virtual Reality (VR) involves the use of computer technology to create stereoscopic 3D images that simulate an interactive and immersive virtual environment. Although VR technology has been in development for a while, only recently has it begun to enter the mainstream with the advent of fully-functional VR headsets such as the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive. Applications of VR technology extend beyond video games, having the potential to impact other forms of entertainment such as film and music, as well as various fields in engineering, medicine, business, and education. The full potential of virtual reality has yet to be explored.

Have you tried any VR games or own a VR headset? Do you think VR will be just a gimmick/passing fad or revolutionize the gaming industry? What games would you like to see implement this technology? I get motion sickness very easily, so I really hope this doesn't take off. Having the surroundings move just makes me feel queasy.

I don't think that VR will ultimately pan out as a mainstream method for presenting videogames. For one, if all you want is VR ports of traditional games, then what exactly will the immersive 3D imagery do for the game? Basically nothing tactile....

I think it will end up like the kinect and the wii did
Cool at first, but everyone hates it later on

Let's see...I would get real dizzy, trip over wires, look like a complete idiot if company is present...no thanks, I'll stick with the TV.

Not to mention the VR being more expensive than the PS4. And I have plans to get the Switch for my birthday next year.

Turns out I tried VR. Sadly if I were to describe the experience, it's gonna be like so long because VR is just plain awesome.
