Aug. 23: DP044: 迷子のヒポポタスを助けろ！ Save the Stray Child Hipopotas!

Rakurai = Electrike
Mumage = Mismagius
Hipopotas = Hippopotas

That second title may be the introduction of the Hearthome gym leader. The other two sound like filler.

Or all three could just be filler eps.

The Mismagius ep sounds interesting. Wonder if it'll be as wild as the Unown ep. Or maybe I'm just like Lisa and getting ahead of myself =P
 
All three sound like fillers, except for maybe the middle one. Wasn't the D/P series supposed to move away from filler and more toward plot and mini-arcs?

I don't mind filler when its paced well but when you have three filler-esque episodes in a row, you start to wonder if the writers are going back to their usual formula.

Ugh, hopefully at least one of these aren't as filler-y as they sound. Fillers can be good, yeah, but like Scott said, they need to be managed effeciently. That would really suck if Sinnoh goes into the mid-saga slump that Johto and Hoenn did.
 
Oh c'mon Cyber, Hippopotas has great potential, and that's for both comedy and battle scenarios. Granted, if he caught it, people would whine about how it'd make Ash's team 'unbalanced' due to the possibility of him getting Torterra later down the line, but it's not like that pokémon can actually use any ground moves bar Earthquake...
Personally, I'd like someone to get it, just because it's such an awesome looking guy.
 
Hmm, hard to gauge what will happen with Hippopotas. The title makes it out to be seen in a heroic light, at least ultimately; I'm thinking it'll start out lazy or something but be called into action for the climax. As for it going to Ash, hard to say, but it sorta has the same vibe as the Drifloon ep to me. Guess we'll see, though; Ash seems due for a team refresher any time now, and besides being Ground subtly conflicting with Turtwig, Hippopotas seems like it could go quite nicely with the other Pokes, and either gender's color scheme would eccentuate his team. (Wait, the color scheme thing might make it more complicated, like with Shellos/Gastrodon, though I think he could go with either the male, being a guy himself, or a female to add more girl power besides Aipom.)

in any case, I'm hoping something happens to it soon. His team's been the same since episode 13, and now that the movie spoilers that've plagued us for the past half a year have passed, I want some god damn changes. While an early evolution for Mukkuru was certainly impressive, his team's been pretty fucking static for thirty episodes. In roughly that time during AG, he got Heigani, Cotoise, not to mention both Pikachu and Kimori learning a new move (not counting Mukubird getting Aerial Ace, since I'm counting his team's development from the time of the evolution, about the closest I've seen to that in DP is Naetle constantly getting whored ou... er, "developed"... as a speed demon -_-). Hell, I believe even his Jouto team saw more constant developments early on (within the first 50 episodes, I believe he gradually traded out his old team and gained his new team... given, it was utter hell after he got Yorunozuku, and there's no way in hell his team could be more static, barely-changing than at that point in the anime's run, but early Jouto wasn't so bad in that regard). Though I guess to be fair, Hikari's getting a fair bit of development, and since she got right into the contest gig rather than wait about half a year like Haruka, her party is liable to see plenty of early progressions (poor Haruka... had a mere two Pokemon for quite a while).

Despite being a random Hoenn Pokemon, overall it sounds like this Practice Center may just be an umbrella term for a training center for Electric Pokemon, so probably some nice Pachirisu screetime along with Pikachu. Is there any new Electric moves of interest?

Sounds rather creepy for a Pokemon episode...and being so close to Hearthrome, and this being one of Fantima's main Pokemon...I can't help bu think they meet her in this. I have no clue what this "nightmare" is about, but perhaps she catches the Mismagius instead of owning it already?

This pretty much sounds like a capture episode...and I hope Ash gets it...

Actually, y'know...Jessie doesn't have one yet...and, I dunno about you, but Hippopotas blank expression has Team Rocket all written over it. As one of my DP favorites, I hope someone gets it!

EDIT: I'm confused as how people apparently can tell a boring filler by merely looking at somewhat vague titles without summaries or anything...

Well if the episodes were named "Pachirisu and Electrike! Electric Practice Center!", "Fatina Enters! Mismagius and the Nightmare!" and "Get the Stray Child Hippopotas!", I'd imagine there'd be less assumptions/ill hopes. ^~^

On a random note, I first misread "Rakurai" as "Darkrai". And right under that was "Escape from a Nightmare"... I was going "omgwtf Darkrai in the anime already?" there for a second.

OMG Misty's going to come and catch the hippo since it's a hippo!

I would think that the mismagius episode's going to be the one with the gym leader since they're getting close to Hearthome, kinda like they did with Gardenia appearing in the forest early.

The Electrike one seems like it's probably going to be a filler, but i could see pachirisu, pikachu or both learning a move like discharge since they both and electrike can learn it and it's new.
 
Wait, about the Hippopotas ep; is the title saying for Hippopotas to save the stray child, or that it IS the stray child?

And IF Ash catches Hippopotas, it could learn the 3 elemental fangs IF it evolved, including Fire Fang, to offset the ice weakness.

I should imagine that the hippopotas is the child. If it were saving a child it would be more like "Hippopotas! Save the Stray Child!" or that reversed.

Which probably lowers the chances of it being caught, this is your typical episode where a Pokemon gets seperated from its family or group and the gang have to get it back to them by the end of the episode.

Of course sometimes in episodes like these the Pokemon chases after the group at the end with your typical Ash line, "So, you want to come along with us?" and it joins.

Because of course, Ash doesn't bother capturing Pokemon anymore unless they show some interest in him. :rolleyes:

The only Pokemon Ash captured recently was Starly, he had no interest in capturing Aipom or Turtwig.
