Team Rocket stole the Thunder Stone in DP74 (the Pikachu vs. Raichu ep), right? Do you think they'll ever use it? The only two Pokemon that evolve with that stone are Eevee and Pikachu, so if they do, they'll wind up with either a Jolteon or a Raichu, which would be really interesting.

It'll probably end up with the GS Ball, Jigglypuff, the other two trainers from Pallet Town, Ash's dad...

In other words, it'll drop off the face of the earth and will never be mentioned again.

Interesting, maybe James or Jessie stumbles upon a Pikachu, a very aggressive one, and immediately touches the Thunderstone to evolve and then either one of them captures it TR-fashion. Not very plausible.

Jessie sees a cute Eevee, decides she must have it, captures it and immediately evolves to Jolteon in the same episode much to Jessie's fascination. A bit more plausible but unlikely since she already captured a Yanma>Yanmega.

Will be accidentaly used by the character of the day's Pokémon to evolve, either a Pikachu / Eevee obviously. Plausible.

Will be entirely forgotten. See PLD's post above. Very plausible but I'm not sure... something tells me something is going to happen with that Thunderstone... time will tell =/

They said they were going to sell if to buy food I believe. Either way, it's not a plot hole.

That's smart though, if you're not gonna use it. You get a lot of money from those things.

Just a correction. I think it was Pikachu who gave the Thunder Stone to the Team Rocket, because he didn' want to see it or something like that.

Pikachu went outside to train, then team rocket, who was eavesdropping for a while sneaked in and grabbed the stone.
Than the twerps come in,and they are shocked that the stone is gone.

I think Team Rocket is going to keep the stone. And probably going to bring it up again later on like with Ash.

If not, they would sell it for money, shoot I would. Or feed to a hungry Pokemon to evolve like a wild Pikachu or Eevee or trained.

What do Thunderstones go for on Ebay these days?

You know, it's a good thing Pikachu uses an item evolution-it would be hard to explain it not evolving it it did so by leveling up (granted, they could just make it not want to evolve like Bulbasaur, but still).

Was Ash's dad ever mentioned?

In my opinion, Team Rocket should do something incredibly mean like evolve Pikachu in his sleep, but that will never happen.

They probably would sell it for money. I mean, where do they get all that dough for their mecha-bots? And how is it that James keeps having a Bottle-cap collection to pawn off?

I'd sell my ingame Thunderstones if I could make a lot of money out of it, but you know, battling rich old people is a much more fulfilling career choice ingame. But I guess in the Anime, the Thunderstone would be good. Not like Giovanni would even want it.

Actually, despite being an integral part of the video game, trainers vitrtually never win/lose money battling in the anime.

Ash's dad was mentioned in one of the earlier episodes where Ash's mom mentions that Ash reached Viridian City much faster than his dad and he would be proud of him and then she completely went off topic and we never heard of him ever again.

damn straight it wouldn't happen. The whole reason they took the stone in the first place is because Nyaasu sympathizes with Pikachu, being in a bit of an evolution rivalry himself. Selling it was a mere afterthought.
