Why do they have a thing that you can trade from old versions in every region except hoenn? It don't make sense...:dodgy:

The data formats that store all of the information on a Pokemon were massively overhauled. If you tried taking the data from a Pokemon in Gen II and sticking it into a Gen III game, it'd come out all messed up and unusable.

It's why we have abilities, natures and better handling of the shiny system today.

And Kate answered that. The coding for the games was different. The past games would not have been compatible.

Hmm i guess it makes sense.. I wish they had one but that would be fun =D

Because Pal Park is just more effective and requires less hassle.

How, if they did a time machine 4 gen1-gen2, then why not gen3-gen4?
Well, there really was no need for a time machine from Gen 3 to 4. The DS was built with both an SD card slot and a GBA cart slot, so why not just do it that way?

Pal Park is a pain if you don't know where to go to find your pokemon :-D
How difficult could finding your Pokemon be?
If they are a grass type look in the grass, if there a water type look in the water, ect, ect.
And even if you can't figure it out you can always look online for the answer.

I'd agree, but the title should be "in Gen 4" to be completely accurate. Why couldn't they just program a trading room which allows all but Gen 4 Pokémon and Moves in, replacing Gen 4 Pokéballs with Regular Pokéballs, with a machine in the center of the room a (redesigned) Time Machine to allow trading and battling with Red/Leaf/Brendan/May, only allowing Pokémon in their party to be traded, so you can get Johto Pokémon easier in the Hoenn Trilogy/RE:Kanto Duo.

Of course, it comes down to the amount of time they had and if it were a plausible idea. I doubt it is, but I wouldn't know.

Pal park was so much easier as you didn't need to go around catching a bunch of bidoofs to get your old pokemon in your new games. As for the problem of finding them, there are a few pages on Bulbapedia that can easily answer that and I never go into Pal Park without having those open because I go in to get the pokemon, not for the challenge of finding and catching them.
