TINA's Nuzlocke Series

With my training done and some final preparations complete, it's time to challenge the pokemon league. I feel like this is something i've done many times before, but i've no actual memories of that so there's no way of knowing. I head in and challenge the first of the elite four, the ice specialist Lorelei. She leads with Dewgong and i with Buizari. A single Thunderbolt seals the deal, and the same applies to the Cloyster that follows. After that comes Slowbro, so i switch to Fushi and kill it with a crit Razor Leaf. For Jynx, i decide to go for Gyuuta who brings it to a sliver with Take Down, but because Lorelei heals rather than attacking i take the thing down the next turn. Last is Lapras so Buizari comes back out; although i get paralyzed by Body Slam, i still manage to kill it in two Thunderbolts. One down.

Third up is Agatha, the ghost specialist who is actually a poison specialist. She leads with Gengar and i with Konaan. She immediately confuses me and i hit myself. A Night Shade then takes me to the yellow before i finally Earthquake the ghost down. Golbat is next, so i switch to Buizari and kill it with a Thunderbolt. For the Haunter that comes after, i switch back to Konaan, who outspeeds and quakes it down. The same fate befalls Arbok, meaning Agatha is down to her last Gengar. Earthquake seals the deal, and the third elite four member is defeated.

The final member of the elite four is the dragon tamer Lance. He leads with Gyarados, which is not a dragon type, so i lead with Buizari. Thunderbolt takes the beast out, but for his Dragonair, i switch to Gyuuta. I hit a Blizzard that doesn't kill, Lance heals up to full, and my next Blizzard crits for the OHKO. I stay in for the next Dragonair; this time Lance doesn't heal off the Blizzard damage so i take him out with Strength. After this comes Aerodactyl, a job for Romotan. Surf misses out on the OHKO, but all i get hit with is a Hyper Beam, so i take him out the next turn. Last is his Dragonite, and i decide to keep Romotan in. Ice Beam misses out on the one-shot, but Lance just spams Agility so i win anyway.

With the Elite Four defeated, i step into the Champion's room, but to my shock, the person standing there is none other than Ben. My rival, the kid who left Pallet Town alongside me, has managed to beat me here and become the champion of all of Kanto. Guess i'll just have to beat him once again like i've done many times before. He leads with Pidgeot, so i send out Buizari. Thunderbolt makes short work of the bird, and next up is Alakazam. I decide to switch to Gyuuta here, who manages to crit a Take Down for the OHKO after Zam tries to use Recover at full health. For the Rhydon that follows, i bring Fushi in who one-shots it with Razor Leaf. Exeggutor is next, a task i give to Poppy. Two Flies take him out while he does next to nothing in return, then against Ben's Gyarados, i bring Buizari back and hit a Thunderbolt. Ben's only got his Charizard left now, so i switch in Romotan who surfs him down while he does nothing but Rage. Victory is mine! I've done it! I'm the champion!

After my victory, Professor Oak comes up to me to congratulate me; he originally came here for Ben, but since Ben already lost, he instead guides me into the Hall of Fame. Standing in these ancient halls surrounded by all these champions' names, it all comes back to me. I have indeed stood here many times before, as well as in other halls of fame all over the world. I am the champion of nine regions, some many times over. I've stopped Team Rocket, Team Galactic, Team Plasma, and many other villains. I have a villa in the Resort Area, where my mom and my Eevee Buikun now reside and where i intend to retire. I came here through an Ultra Wormhole on Mt. Silver, and lost my memory in the process.

Amid these revelations, i take some time to contemplate those who gave their lives for me in this most recent journey through Kanto:

Mushi the Caterpie. You gave your life so we could safely beat the first fight with Ben on route 22. RIP

Blargh the Metapod. Like Mushi, you went down to save us from defeat against Ben. RIP

Tori the Pidgey. If not for your sacrifice, that grunt's Raticate may have killed much of our team. RIP

Not sure what to do next. I know of the life i had on the other side of the wormhole, but i'm not sure if i can ever return to that.

Chapter 21: Ultra Sun will start once i'm back from vacation

Chapter 21: Ultra Sun

At long last, we've arrived at the final chapter of this epic saga. The home stretch will be the most difficult though; this game has some insane bosses like Ultra Necrozma, Totem Ribombee and Totem Araquanid. I'm doing this game last mainly because i think Team Rainbow Rocket is a perfect way to end things, but the difficulty will make this a great climax to this years-long journey.

Rules will be as follows:
  1. I will not be using the Exp Share
  2. Hau'oli Outskirts and the Trainers School are considered separate areas from Route 1
  3. I will not be making use of Poke Pelago
  4. I will not be making use of Island Scan
  5. I may not change the time of day to get better encounters
  6. The challenge is complete upon defeating both Blue and Team Rainbow Rocket
  7. I will not be using Festival Plaza except when the Team Rainbow Rocket plotline forces me to
  8. Pokemon encountered during trials do not count as my encounter for that area
  9. Ultra Space is considered a single area in terms of encounters
  10. Ultra Beasts are considered legendaries
With all that, let's begin
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This reality is nice and i love all the pokemon i've befriended here in Kanto, but i'd much rather return home, where Buikun is waiting for me in my Resort Area villa. My mom doesn't entirely believe my stories, but she's in the mood for a vacation so she agrees to join me on a trip to the region where Ultra Wormholes seem the most frequent: Hawaii. On the way, we contact professor Kukui in preparation for my next pokemon journey; We met before when i first traveled Alola, but this is a different universe and thus a different Kukui.

When we arrive, we head straight to our cabin on Route 1, where i head straight to bed; flights are tiring. The next morning, i head out to go and explore the nearby Iki Town, but along the way, i get attacked by a wild Yungoos. I had to leave all my pokemon behind in Kanto, so i'm utterly defenseless. Fortunately though, three pokemon jump in to save me: a Rowlet, a Litten and a Popplio. These pokemon belogn to Kukui, who comes up to me to introduce himself face to face. He had been preparing these pokemon to serve as the starter pokemon of a new trainer looking to journey across these islands, so he offers me one of them. I of course pick the cutie Popplio, upon whom i shall bestow the nickname Ingrid.

The professor tells me that all starter pokemon on this island are gifts from the Kahuna over in Iki Town, so i should head there and thank him. As i head to the entrance of town, i am greeted by this universe's version of Hau. Hau was supposed to be the one choosing his starter today; the he chooses the cute kitty, Litten. We decide to immediately have a practice battle, but Ingrid wipes the floor with Litten with no effort. We head into town together, but the kahuna isn't here; must be resolving some trouble somewhere. The professor suggests i go pay my respects at the shrine of the island's guardian; guess there's no harm in that. On the road, i spot Lillie, with something in her bag she's trying to hide. At the bridge, Cosmog jumps out and is immediately set upon by hostile Spearow; i jump in, beat one of them up and then shield Cosmog from the rest of the flock with my body, but then the birdge suddenly collapses under us. I hang on to Nebby as i say goodbye to this world, but rather than falling to our deaths, we're grabbed by some yellow thing that places us safely on solid land.

Lillie thanks me for this daring rescue, but is interrupted as Nebby finds something on the ground. A shining stone fell to the ground as the creature saved me; Lillie decides that i should have it as thanks for everything. I promise her never to tell anyone about Nebby, and we head back to town together. Back in town, the professor tells me that Lillie is his assistant, and that she has business with the kahuna here. Just then, the kahuna shows up in town; we tell him everything that's happened, and he tells us that the creature that saved me was probably the island's guardian deity, Tapu Koko. At this point, the professor decides to give me a pokedex so that i may register all the pokemon i encounter during my travels; yeah, i've never cared for that endeavor. This thing will sit unused. As i'm pretending to be grateful for this gift though, Kahuna Hala notices the shining stone in my bag, and asks if he can investigate it for a bit. He'll give it back tomorrow, at the festival. Apparently there's a festival.

This was an eventful day, so i head back home to introduce Ingrid to my mom, then i head for bed. The next morning, Kukui comes to visit to remind me of the festival. While he's here, he also offers to show me how to catch a pokemon. I've beaten countless leagues and stopped numerous evil teams, but sure, treat me like i don't know the basics. The professor does give me some poke balls after though, so it's all good. I immediately use one of these balls to catch a wild Grubbin, naming him Blargh. I train Blargh up a bit, then i head to town to attend the festival. Outside of town though, i run into two weirdly pale people dressed in strange space gear. They have no interest in me though, so i just head on into town. There, Hala greets me and invites me to join in the festivities.

Hau, Lillie and the professor are also here. Hala heals up my pokemon, then he asks me if my mons are ready to do battle, which they are. This ceremony traditionally involves pokemon battles, so i'm pitched against Hau again. He leads with his Pichu and i lead with Blargh. A Charm and a Tail Whip can't stop my Mud-Slaps from making short work of him, so Hau is down to his other mon: his Litten. I send Ingrid out for this and Water Gun it down for the victory. After the battle, we hear the Tapu cry out in approval. This prompts Hala to give me back my stone, which he has fitted into a bracelet. This is apparently a Z-Power Ring, even though it's a bracelet, not a ring. These can be used to allow your pokemon to use special Z-moves in battle, though i currently lack the Z-crystals needed to actually do so. This bracelet also allows me to partake in the Island Challenge, the alternative for the Pokemon League found here in Hawaii.

After the festival, i decide to head home and call it a day.

Jesus Christ this game takes forever to get going

Good luck, makes sense to end with the most infamous game of all. Yeah, you'll have that smash A while you're in Melemele to skip the cutscenes.

The next morning, Lillie comes to my house and asks me to come to the professor's lab with her. Along the way though, i catch an Inkay and name her Sakasama. She'll be joining my squad, so i take some time to train her up.

After Sakasama is on par with my other guys, i head for the lab, but i hear strange fighting noises from inside. Lillie explains that she's been the guy's assistant for 3 months now after he found her on the beach, and that he really likes sparring with his Rockruff. When we head inside, the professor offers to upgrade my dex by putting a Rotom in it; i have no use for the dex as is, so it might as well serve as some pokemon's home. Hau then shows up and tries looking around the lab, but the professor forbids it and tells us to head off to the Trainers School. Not sure what they can still teach me, but sure, i'll head there. As we head outside though, the sky suddenly turns dark for a minute even though it's the middle of the day. The professor interprets this as a good sign for my island challenge, so i'll just head off.

Along the way to the school, we come across a pokemon center, and Lillie decides to explain how everything works there. Girl, i'm a seasoned trainer. I know this shit. Anyway, we head on to the school itself, where as a sort of initiation rite, i have to seek out 4 other students and beat them up. The professor decides to give me and EXP share to help me get ready for the Island Challenge i will be taking hereafter, but my pokemon won't hold it so i just chuck it in the bin. Shame; would have been useful. As i'm searching for the kids, i run into a wild Zorua in the schoolyard and name it Kagamine Rin. Think i'll leave the school for now and train this new squad member up.

After Kagamine Rin is up to speed, i head back to the school and beat up the students. I hear an announcement telling me to head to the teacher's office, so i head in there and the teacher challenges me to a fight to see what i've learned about pokemon. She sends out her Rowlet, and i counter with Sakasama. Leafage does about a third to me, and my Foul Play does over half in response. The next turn, i'm hit by another Leafage, but Foul Play fails to kill for some reason. I have to switch here, so Kagamine Rin comes out, tanks a Leafage and kills with Pursuit. After this fight, the professor drops by along side this universe's Ilima; guess i should introduce myself. I look forward to challenging him, but not now. Lillie decides to show me the way to Hau'oli city, and along the way i meet Hala and Hau; Hala has just tamed a Tauros. I think this is the right time to call it a day.

Really happy i got the Zorua; that's gonna trivialize Ultra Necrozma if i play my cards right and don't lose it.

Hala asks me if i want to pet the Tauros; i pet it on the head and it responds by mooing in approval. Hau, Lillie and i then head on to town, where Hau and i are lured into a shop that decides to upgrade my Rotom Dex to be able to take pictures. Thx, i guess. Anyway, we head on and i find Lillie staring at a clothes shop. She reveals to me that she has never had the confidence to actually buy clothes for herself and always just wore what her mother bought her. That's kinda sad tbh, especially considering who her mom is. Things might be different in this timeline though; idk if Lusamine is as evil as she was in my version of Hawaii. As i explore town further, i run into Ilima who calls my attention to a sticker on the wall of the pokemon center. He tells me that these things are placed by Team Skull, and asks me to remove them whenever i find them. Sure, whatever. After this encounter, i spot one of those dark-type Meowth hanging out in someone's back yard, so i decide to catch it and name it Hello Kitty. Hello Kitty will be trained up to par with the rest of the crew.

A while later, Hau and i run into some of those Team Skull punks, so we beat the shit out of them. They fuck off and Hau decides to leave to find Hala, when i'm approached by Ilima who apparently saw the whole thing go down and now wants to test my strength for himself. He leads with Yungoos and i with Hello Kitty. I lead off with a Fake Out, then i Bite him into the yellow as he Tackles me into crit range. I have to risk the crit here, so i bite again as he Leers. The next bite would have gotten the kill, but Ilima decided to heal. If i stay in i die, so i switch to Ingrid on a Leer. Ingrid tanks a Tackle that does about a third and brings my foe back into the red, then after another tackle that brings me to the red, i get the kill. For Ilima's other pokemon, Smeargle, i switch in Sakasama. I set up a reflect on turn 1, but that may have been unneeded as Smeargle's Tackle is much weaker than what Yungoos did. I hit two Foul Plays, and victory is mine.

After that fight, Ilima judges me worthy to take on his trial on Route 2. As i make my way through this route, i run into a wild Makuhita, who would be the perfect pokemon to fill the still-open slot on my team. So i catch him and bestow upon him the nickname Fatty. There's a cemetery here, so i decide to pay it a visit to pay my respects to those who came before me. One of the spirits here, a Drifloon, comes floating towards me as if it seeks to join my team for the challenges to come, so i hold out a Great Ball and he willingly enters it, joining my squad under the name 99. I suddenly have a premonition that Kagamine Rin needs to be kept safe to prevent cataclysm in the future, so she's going to the box and 99 is joining the squad in her place. I'll be training him and Fatty up next time though; for now, i'm calling it a day.

Fatty and 99's training is complete, so i head on. As i'm heading further up route 2, i notice a passage west that leads to the beach. I could use some beach time, so i decide to head there. I lounge for a bit, build sand castles and go for a swim, when i suddenly notice a cave next to the beachfront. I head in, but it's a dead end; i catch the wild Zubat i find there, name it Batman and head back out. As i'm about to leave the beach, i hear a pair of Team Skull idiots threaten a lady if she doesn't let them surf on her Mantine. Course, i beat them up easily. I get a Fresh Water as thanks, and head back on my way. Along the way, i spot those weird aliens again, talking about the shining one or something like that. Further on, i run into Hau, who points out to me that there's a pokemon center here in the wilderness. I have eyes, my man. He also gives me some of those "Revive" things, but i'm still not into necromancy.

Anyway, with that done, it's time to finally head for my first trial. I meet Ilima at the entrance of the trial cavern and follow him in so he can explain what i'm supposed to do. I'm supposed to hunt 3 pokemon throughout the cavern, and then head out to the other end to touch the Z-Crystal there. That'll get the totem Gumshoos to appear. I beat up two of them, but then some of those Team Skull idiots once again come to make my life difficult. I beat them up of course, after which they have the genius idea to go and catch the totem. It whoops their asses, so they just decide to go and block two of the three holes the remaining wild pokemon here could come from. This actually helps me; i beat up the last mon so i can face off against the Totem myself. I head into the totem's den, touch the crystal, and out comes the totem Donald Tr- sorry, i mean Gumshoos. I immediately send out Fatty and hit it with a Fake Out so it can't move this turn, but it just summons a Yungoos to help it. They both hit me with powerful Tackles as i take out Yungoos with Force Palm to make this a 1v1 again. I then switch 99 in on a Tackle and immediately swap Hello Kitty in on what i expected would be a Bite, but i got a Scary Face. That works too, i guess. I hit a Fake Out and then two Growls as he scary faces me again and hits a Super Fang. I then pivot through 99 into Blargh, coming in on another Scary Face. I soften him up with a few Bug Bites until he's in the red. I'm well into crit range now though, so i once again pivot through 99, this time bringing Ingrid in on a scary face. My starter finishes things off with a Water Gun, earning me my first Z-crystal.

Ilima asks me to come with him to route 3, but i think i'm gonna look for pokemon here in the cavern first. As i do so though, the aliens i saw earlier approach me and introduce themselves; their names are Amamo and Dulse. They're apparently from somewhere called Ultra Space, and they're investigating Hawaii. Anyway, i catch a Yungoos here and name it Nr. 45. When i get outside, i meet Kukui, who decides to show me how to use Z-moves by beating up a poor, innocent Growlithe. Anyway, it's time to call it a day.

As i step onto route 3, i'm immediately assaulted by a wild Spearow, which i catch and nickname DRC. DRC isn't gonna be with us for long though; you see, in the pokemon center back on route 2, i met someone who was looking for Spearow. So i trade DRC to her and receive Oogaa the Hawlucha in return. Oogaa seems more useful on the team than Hello Kitty, so he will take her place for the upcoming challenges. I train him up, then i head off to admire the rugged, rocky landscape of Route 3. There cliffsides have a certain beauty to them; i'd advise anyone visiting this region to pay them a visit. Anyway, there's a side passage to the Melemele Meadow, a beautiful field full of yellow flowers. Lillie is there, but she tells me that Nebby has taken off. In the distance, i see Nebby head off into a tiny hole. Lillie is afraid of the pokemon that might be hiding among the flowers, so it falls to be to head in and get Nebby back.

I do indeed encounter a pokemon among the flowers, a Flabebe. It's in my box now, and goes by the name Hana. Anyway, i progress into the little cave i saw Nebby enter, where i'm immediately assaulted by a wild Smoochum. Out of self-defense, i throw a pokeball at it and it stays put, so i nickname it Yegh. I find Nebby, but i also run into those alien people again. Dulse decides to challenge me to a fight and sends out his Furfrou, so i send out Ingrid. I immediately switch to Fatty on a Growl, then after a fake out i hit a Force Palm that paralyzes him. Dulse likes to spam Sand-Attack, Baby-Doll Eyes and Growl though, so i end up barely hitting him and doing very little damage when i do hit. Nevertheless, i get him to the red before he finally decides to headbutt me, doing over half. At this point, i switch to 99 and ask myself why i didn't do so sooner; there's nothing my foe can do against him.

Dulse tells me that he really isn't used to pokemon battles like this because they don't have poke balls on his home world. Anyway, they agree to leave us alone, so me and Nebby can safely return to Lillie. As we head outside of the meadow, Hau suddenly comes running at us and demands a battle, sending out his Litten before i can even respond. I send out 99 and spam Gust; this does more than my foe's Embers. I eventually take him down, and next is Pikachu. I give Blargh this job, and Mud-Slap gets the best of the electric rat. Last up is Noibat, a foe Ingrid can dispatch with her Disarming Voice.

After the battle, the professor shows up to tell me and Hau that our next challenge is to face Hala. I don't yet feel up to that challenge though, so instead of heading back to Iki Town, i train a bit and then call it a day.

You are making good progress with this.
Good luck against Hala!

Time to face Hala. He uses fighting types, so no one will have to sit this one out. I head over to Iki Town, where the professor and Lillie show up to cheer me on. Hala leads with his Machop and i with 99, who is immune to everything Machop can do. Because of this, Hala switches to his Crabrawler, who takes just under half from a Gust on the switch-in. He outspeeds me though and Pursuit does over half. This is bad. Whad i end up doing is using Minimize while Hala heals, then spamming healing items until my foe misses. When he misses, i launch a Gust for just under half. This strategy ends up getting the better of him, and Hala's Makuhita and Machop can't touch 99 so victory is mine. Not the most honourable way to win a fight, but a win's a win.

After the fight, we hear Tapu Koko's cry of approval, and Hala hands me the Fightinium Z. Afterward, we get approached by the same Tauros we encountered earlier, and Hala offers to teach me how to ride it. I prefer to walk, but this thing does know HM06 Rock Smash, which might come in handy. Hala gives me a ride pager to call on Tauros anytime, then Ilima tells me to come to the photo club in Hau'oli. I see little reason to go there though; instead i'll explore the island a bit now that i can smash rocks. I explore the area near the professor's lab, where i find a cave behind the rocks. In said cave, i encounter a Mawile, so of course i catch her and name her Daikuchi. Neeper in this cave, i find a sort of balcony overseeing a valley where i find the Flynium Z just lying about. The moment i pick it up, some golfer lady shows up, tells me how to use it, and then heads off again. Very strange, but i should be heading off myself anyway.

I decide to stop by the photo place anyway even though i'm not into photos, and i have my picture taken with Oogaa. That was pointless, but whatever. When i step outside, i run into Hau, who proposes we head to Akala Island together by surfing over. Rather than just giving me HM03 Surf though, he takes me to the beach where we can rent a Mantine to surf on. Along the way, i meet this universe's version of Samson Oak, the cousin of the senile professor from Kanto. He tells me that he's here researching totem pokemon, and that he can give me totem-sized pokemon if i collect the yellow stickers i've been seeing all over the island. He also tells me he's something of an expert at Mantine Surf, holding many of the records. Anyway, i head out onto the beach, and rent a mantine alongside Hau.

I surf over to Akala, doing some tricks along the way. These tricks are apparently good enough to set some kind of new record; guess i'm a natural. Anyway, we head over to the docks where the professor and Lillie just arrived by ship. As we're catching up on how the surfing went, two women approach us. One of them is Olivia, the kahuna of this island, and the other is Mao, one of the trial captains here. The professor introduces us and we talk a bit about nothing in particular, and then everyone but me and lillie heads off. Lillie tells me about a beautiful hotel just down the road which i should go see, but i decide to call it a day for now.

When he misses, i launch a Gust for just under half. This strategy ends up getting the better of him, and Hala's Makuhita and Machop can't touch 99 so victory is mine. Not the most honourable way to win a fight, but a win's a win.
Ooooh man! That was kind of a close call for 99! I didn't know Crabrawler had Pursuit!

Ooooh man! That was kind of a close call for 99! I didn't know Crabrawler had Pursuit!
i did; i looked up his moveset beforehand. I had forgotten though that NPCs will actually switch out their pokemon if they have no moves that do anything. Had i realised that, i would have swapped to Oogaa on turn 1.

As i head to the hotel to check it out, i run into Dexio and Sina, who are vacationing here. Course, they don't recognize me, as i never traveled to France in this timeline. Anyway, Dexio wants to fight me and sends out his Mime Jr, so i send out Blargh, who tanks two confusions and kills his foe with Bug Bite. Dexio's other mon is his Espeon, which i decide is a task for Sakasama. His Quick Attacks do next to nothing to me, especially after i set up Reflect, so i hit him with a flying Z-move and a Foul Play to finish the fight. Afterward, they tell me to continue my journey on Route 4.

Route 4's just down the road, so after checking out the beautiful hotel building, i head out there. On that route, i encounter a wee li'l Lillipup, which of course i catch and nickname Babette. I progress through these grasslands until i find a nice, rustic rural town called Paniola. I set out to explore town a bit, when i suddenly run into my friend Hau. Guy heals up my mons, then he challenges me to a fight to see who's been growing the strongest. We both send out our starters; it's Ingrid vs Torracat. I predict a Breakneck Blitz and immediately switch to 99, but what i get is a Lick that does almost half. So i switch Oogaa in on a Fire Fang that does almost half; this is looking bad. I decide to go for a roost to tank the next move, but that next move is Lick so i had nothing to worry about. I launch a flying Z-move at my foe that brings him to the red, while re responds with a regular Scratch. My next Aerial Ace then finishes the big cat. Pikachu is out second, so i switch to Blargh. Bug Bite does way more than his Quick Attacks, and he didn't use Electro Ball for some reason, so i got the easy two-shot. For Hau's third pokemon, Noibat, i send Ingrid back out; an Icy Wind later, the bat is toast. Hau has one final mon, Eevee, but it cannot do anything to 99. Victory is mine. In addition, seeing how Hau had already evolved his starter convinces Ingrid to undergo the same transformation; she is now a Brionne.

As a reward, Hau gives me a Dire Hit and tells me that crits will cut through a totem pokemon's aura. Thx, but i already knew that. Anyway, i test out Ingrid's new power on some Team Skull goons who are harassing an innocent albino Vulpix, then i head north into the farmland. There, i run into Mao who is tending to her cows. She remarks about how the cows leave their milk everywhere here, and then proceeds to update my Ride Pager with a Stoutland, which are good at sniffing out hidden objects. I do indeed find some milk using this stoutland, bu more importantly, i find another wild Lillipup, which i shall nickname Maddie. I also find a day care where one can leave one's pokemon. I prefer raising them myself, but when i step inside they tell me they found an egg that they need someone to care for. I of course accept it; the thought of what might hatch from this makes me so excited that i hop on my Tauros and start hyperactively racing around. After a while of this, the egg hatches into a cute little Eevee, just like cute little Buikun at home. I name it Buitani, but i don't think it has a place on my team right now.

I proceed onto Route 5 and catch Rachel the Metapod, then i call it a day.

As i progress through the route, i run into Hau, who's staring down this universe's version of Gladion. Gladion talks a bit about how battles aren't supposed to be fun but are supposed to be a means of getting stronger, and he challenges me to a fight. He leads with his Zubat, and i with Blargh. I get hit by a Faint Attack that does about half, but i strike back with a Bug Bite that brings him to a sliver and reveals i was actually dealing with Zorua all along. A second Faint Attack brings me to the red, but a second Bug Bite kills him. The real Zubat is up next, so i switch to Ingrid. Two Icy Winds later, Gladion is down to his last mon, his Type Null. This is a job for Oogaa, whose Karate Chops easily outdamage my foe's Tackles, thus taking him down.

Gladion talks for a bit about how i'm strong and Hau's weak, when a few Team Skull grunts show up and tell him to come along; guess he's working for them. I proceed to beat up some more trainers on the route, when i suddenly feel a premonition that keeping Sakasama safe will be important later on, so i decide to box him in favour of Daikuchi the Mawile. During the training session that followed, Blargh evolved into Charjabug, adding some Electric coverage to our team. With that, i decide to head on into Brooklet Hill, where i meet Suiren, one of the trial captains here. She explains to me that in order to partake in her trial, i need to be able to Surf, so she adds a Lapras that knows HM03 Surf to my ride pager.

This is a water trial, so no one will have to sit this one out. The challenge here is to seek out the bubbling spots where Wishiwashi is hiding and beat them up, while avoiding any Dewpider. During this trial, it starts to rain which is annoying, but i guess i shouldn't quit just because of a bit of bad weather. I eventually chase them down to the Totem's Den, where they school together, only to get jumped by the totem Araquanid. I send out Oogaa to combat this beast, and i hit it with a flying Z-move, but it responds with a Bubble that does almost half and lowers my speed and calls its ally Masquerain. I have to risk it here though; no one can switch in and safely get a hit off before getting killed. My gamble pays off; i still outspeed despite the speed drop, so i kill Araquanid while Masquerain just sets up Tailwind. Masquerain then dies with ease. As a reward, Suiren presents me with the Waterium Z. She also teaches me how to use it, and gifts me a fishing rod as another reward for beating up her prized Araquanid.

After thr trial, i head back into Brooklet Hill, catch a Dewpider i name Henry, and then call it a day.

With my new rod and ability to Surf, i decide to go back to some places i've visited already and get some new mons. In Paniola, i catch Yonaoshi the Barboach. I then head back to Melemele and go for a surf on the Melemele Sea, where i catch Squidward the Tentacool. After beating up a bunch of swimmers here, i head to the secret cave in Melemele Meadow, and to the other end where i find myself in Kala'e Bay. I fish up Sakana the Magikarp here, then i take a boat back to Akala to continue on my journey. I scare off some Sudowoodo blocking my path with my new Waterium Z, when the weird aliens show up again to admire how i scared them off without a fight. Dulse wants to fight me again, this time using a pokemon from his home world, something called "Poipole". So i send out Blargh and hit a Spark while Dulse uses an X Special. I decide at this poin that it's wisdom to switch Daikuchi in as he either resists or is immune to all of Dulse's moves. I can barely hurt him either though, so it takes an eternity, but eventually my foe goes down.

After this victory, i head south into Route 6 where i run into this universe's Hapu, who is facing off against some Team Skull grunts. I help her beat them down, and she advises me to check out the Battle Royal Dome before she heads off on her Mudsdale. Instead of doing that though, i just catch Tori the Pikipek and call it a day.

Guess i'll check out this battle royal dome thing. At the entrance, i spot Gladion heading in, so i follow him. Inside, i meet the professor in his weird superhero costume who explains to me how these battle royals work; it's essentially a 4v4 pokemon battle. Hau's also here, so the four of us decide to hold one of these battles. I send out Ingrid, Hau sends out his Torracat, the professor goes for Rockruff and Gladion sends out Type: Null. I hit a water Z-move into the professor's Protect as Hau and Gladion gang up on me. This is getting kinda scary. My next Aqua Jet kills the Rockruff though and Hau and Gladion decide to attack each other. The battle's over now; it apparently ends the turn one player is eliminated.

After the fight, we've approached by Kiawe, the trial master for the Wela Volcano trial. He tells us that for his trial, we should head up Route 7 near here. So i head up Route 7, where i surf around a bit and fight the trainers. No wild pokemon in the water somehow, but on land i do encounter a hairy Diglett, so i catch it and nickname it John. After i'm done swimming in the salty waters and building sand castles on the beach, i head on into Wela Volcano Park, where i find a cute little Magby in the grass. So i catch it and name it Suzy. Suzy will be getting a spot on the team, taking the place of Fatty. I'm sorry Fatty, you've been great, but it makes little sense to keep two fighting types with me and Oogaa is simply better. After i train my new soldier up, i go ahead and explore the rest of this massive volcano, admiring the rugged landscape and the amazing view. This is also where thr trial is located, so i guess i'll go do that. This is a fire trial, so Blargh and Daikuchi will be sitting this one out. Instead, Fatty will be joining us for one more battle, and we're also joined by Nr. 45 the Yungoos, as death fodder. The challenge here is to tell the difference between two dances the Marowak perform. I manage this thrice, allowing me to face off against the totem Marowak. I send out Ingrid, who tanks a Brick Break and brings him to the red with a water Z-move. Marowak then calls his ally Salazzle though, so i can't just finish him with Aqua Jet and win. I opt to sack Nr. 45 to bring Oogaa on the field, and he Aerial-Aces Marowak down. Cursed Body disables Aerial Ace though, and Salazzle hits a Torment. I Encore Salazzle into that move, then i switch to Ingrid and kill him with a Bubblebeam and an Aqua Jet.

The Firium Z is mine! Kiawe even adds a pokemon to the ride pager; i can now call upon a Charizard that knows HM02 Fly. I think i'll call it a day now though.

I hope Bulbapedia is up and running again soon. Serebii is a pain to navigate.

Now that i've beaten Kiawe's trial, i'm allowed to pass through the tunnel on Route 7, where i run into the weird aliens again. They tell me a bit about their homeworld, but tbh i don't really care. After they head off though, i suddenly notice a camouflaged pokemon nearby. It turns out to be a Kecleon, so i catch it and bestow upon it the nickname Pascal. The tunnel leads to the seaside Route 8, where i see the aliens talking to my old enemy Colress. He's apparently in the region to study Z-power rings and how the bond between people and pokemon allows them to work. He offers me a TM as a sign of goodwill; he wants to put the past behind us. I'm cool with that. Anyway, we part ways and i decide to try out how the fishing is here. I fish up a Magikarp that i nickname Pesci, then i head on. When i approach the pokemon center, i run into Hau again, who tells me about a place called Festival Plaza, that you can teleport to at will. I try it out and head there; once there, i run into this universe's Sophocles. He tells me all about how this place works, but tbh it doesn't seem all that interesting. So i just politely wait for him to stop talking without really listening, then i head back.

I beat up all the other trainers on the route, then it's time to head for Mao's trial site, the Lush Jungle. This is a grass trial, so Ingrid will be sitting this one out. Instead, we will be joined by Pesci the Magikarp, as death fodder. The trial here revolves around collecting ingredients so that Mao can make her famous soup. I'm not a particularly great chef, but somehow i manage to get all the right ones. Suiren and Kiawe even join us as we make the soup, though i do have to fend off some wild pokemon looking for a bite. The scent of the soup also attracts the attention of the totem Lurantis, so i send out Blargh to defend myself. I hit a Bug Bite that does more than the X-Scissor i get hit with, but Lurantis calls for the help of a Comfey. Lurantis decides to Synthesis up and Comfey uses Flower Shield to raise its ally's defense; this is gonna be annoying. I opt to switch Oogaa in on a crit X-scissor that did a whopping 9 damage, then i use a flying Z-move, but due to a missclick it hits Comfey. Comfey is now in the red as it sets up Sunny Day, but i don't want to kill it as it can't really hurt me. Neither can Lurantis for that matter; i just have to stall the enemies out. Fortunately, i have Roost, so barring any Solar Blade crits, i can do just that. A trillion years later, Lurantis is out of Solar Blades and X-Scissors, but i'm out of Roosts, so i switch to 99 because all the totem can do is Low Kick. Comfey still has magical leafs though, and he gets me almost to the red while i Gust the Lurantis down. I thus switch to Suzy to deal the killing blow on Comfey and win the trial.

After Mao hands me the grass Z-crystal, everyone heads their separate ways, and i'm approached by the professor. He congratulates me on winning all three of Akala's trials, and tells me that Olivia is waiting for me on the south side of the island. For now though, i catch a wild Steenee, name it Zwieb and call it a day.

Time to head down south. I fly back to town and enter the Diglett's Tunnel, where i'm promptly attacked by a wild Zubat. Of course, i catch him; his nickname shall be Dracula. I actually meet Olivia here, but she tells me the tunnel's closed off due to bad people disturbing the Diglett here. Guess i should head back later. Instead, i decide to hang around town a bit, and i run into Lillie and Nebby. She informs me that the building we're standing in front of is actually the lab of the professor's wife, Professor Burnet. No harm in dropping by for a visit; me and lillie meet the professor there and he introduces me to his wife. Burnet tells me about how she found Lillie unconscious on the beach several months ago, and so she and the professor took the girl in.

Hau then arrives, and Burnet tells us what she's researching in this region: Ultra Wormholes. Awesome, that's exactly why i'm here too. She seems to be mostly focused on the strange, alien pokemon that come from these holes, so i tell her my story and how these wormholes are my only hope of getting home. Burnet doesn't think it's possible to access a stable wormhole that leads to a known other universe, but she says she'll do her best to help me find a way back to Buikun and my villa. Burnet has work to do though, so we all head out. The moment i step outside, i see something incredible: a wormhole just opened up in the sky above me. Shame i can't reach it and jump right through.

Anyway, i think i'll go check out whether the trouble in Diglett's Tunnel has been solved and Olivia has time to fight me. It looks like the tunnel has been opened up; Olivia invites me to come to her home in Konikoni so we can arrange a fight. As i make my way though, i run into some folks from the Aether Foundation who tell me that Team Skull is still causing issues here. In my original timeline, the Aether Foundation are crooks, but i guess i'll try to keep an open mind and not mistrust these guys immediately. Guess i should search for the Team Skull idiots though. When i find them, Hau comes running up to me and we take them down together. They flee out of the tunnel, the same way i'm heading. The moment i exit the tunnel though, i run into my old friend Looker. He tells me that the big moment is nearly here; the reason Arceus above decided to bring me back from the dead. For now though, he tells me to just continue with my island challenge, so that's what i'll do.

Before i head into town though, i fish up a Luvdisc and nickname it Ai. I also decide to head to the Memorial Hill east of here to pay my respects to those who came before, and while i'm there, i catch a cute little Phantump that i name Shindaki. I then proceed onward to the rugged coastline of the Akala Outskirts, where i run into the president of the United States himself. I of course catch this Gumshoos, naming him Donald. I beat up all the trainers here as well, then i decide it's time to call it a day.

Daikuchi (Mawile) lv 27
Ingrid (Brionne) lv 27

Time to head back to town to fight Olivia. When i enter her shop though, her Nosepass hands me a note telling me that Olivia has gone to Memorial Hill; i must have just missed her. Since i'm in the shop anyway, i buy a bunch of fossils; i met a guy earlier on Route 8 who can revive them. So i Fly over and revive them into Kaisama the Omanyte, Anne the Anorith, Zugai the Cranidos, Raphael the Tirtouga and Rex the Tyrunt. Time to go meet Olivia though, so i head back to the Memorial Hill, where i find the Aether Foundation facing down Team Skull. I help beat up the goons, and press on. As i approach the entrance to the Tapu's ruins though, i'm approached by Plumeria, an admin of Team Skull, who seeks to beat me up for what i did to her underlings. She sends out her Golbat, so i send out Blargh to defend myself. My foe takes away a third of my health, byt my Spark does over half and paralyzes. That's apparently not enough for me to outspeed, so Golbat can still hit a Supersonic, but Blargh pulls through and takes him out. Plumeria's other mon is Salandit, so i switch in Suzy and kill it with two Rock-type Hidden Powers, one of which was a crit.

After that beat-up, Plumeria fucks off so i can head on to meet with Olivia. I know she uses Rock types, so i head back to the PC beforehand to box Blargh, 99 and Suzy; we'll instead be joined by Sakana the Magikarp, Maddie the Lillipup and Babette the Lillipup, as death fodder. While i'm back in town though, i speak to a cop who tells me that a gang of Ditto called the Ditto Five are causing trouble around town while disguised as people, so i offer to track them down. The first one is one of the cops on Route 9; i KO him without issues. I manage to catch one of the others though; it shall be nicknamed Lover. As i'm fighting these 5 ditto, Babette actually gains enough experience to evolve into Herdier; i was using her as bait for them to transform into. I can't find all of them though, so i just head off to face Olivia.

At the Ruins of Life, i meet Burnet and Lillie; Nebby apparently wanted to see this place. Anyway, Olivia's here too; she's just consulted with the Tapu and is now ready to fight me. So i send out Ingrid while my foe leads with Anorith. This fight immediately proves hard though; she brings me to just over half as my Bubblebeam gets her to the red. I guess that Olivia will heal, so i go for another Bubblebeam; this proves the right play. Aqua Jet then finishes Anorith. Next is Lileep, so i field Daikuchi. My moves don't do a lot and while hers don't either, she knows Brine which does do a lot when you're low on health. I end up having to switch Oogaa in, who finishes it with a Flying Press. Last is her ace, Lycanroc. He flinches me with a Bite, then i opt to switch to Babette on what i predict would be a Z-move. It turns out to be another Bite; sacrificed her for nothing. Now confident my foe will just Bite again, i bring Oogaa back, tank the bite and hit with a Fighting Z-move that gets the OHKO. Victory is mine; another Z-crystal in the pocket.

After the battle, Hau comes running up to us, demanding a battle with the kahuna. He also tells me that folks from the Aether Foundation want to meet me at te Hano Resort on this island; Upon hearing the name of that group, Lillie decides not to come along; guess i'm heading there by myself. So i fly over, but before i go talk to the Aether guys though, i make sure to enjoy myself on this resort's beautiful beaches. This leads to an encounter with a Staryu buried below the sand; i catch it and bestow upon it the nickname Patrick. I also fight some of the trainers here while i'm relaxing and having a great time, which causes 99 to finally make the step to evolve into Drifblim. In fact, this is such a good place to relax that i think i'll just call it a day.

After a nice time on the beach, i head into the hotel to meet with the aether guy. His name is Faba, and he offers me a tour of the Aether Paradise, across the seas. As we're speaking, Hau arrives with the professor and Olivia; Hau's coming with us. The professor tells us he'll be waiting for us on Ula'ula when we're done with our tour through the paradise. So Hau and i board Faba's private ship and make our way over to the artificial island built to protect pokemon. Once there, Faba explains that poke balls don't work here in order to protect the endangered mons found here. We also learn that Faba takes much pride in his role as second in command, and will not let lower-ranking employees call him by his name rather than his title. Anyway, he leaves us with someone named Wicke, who will be our guide through the rest of the paradise. She takes us through the gardens, where mistreated pokemon can recover from their injuries and get better.

It is here that we meet Lusamine. An irredeemable monster in my home universe, but let's not judge her too quickly; many things are different in this verse. She presents herself as a sort of mother to all the injured pokemon here, but as we're talking, we hear a loud noise. An Ultra Wormhole suddenly opens up in front of us, but before i can head through to see if it leads home, a weird alien emerges from it. We defs don't have those things in my verse, so i leave the wormhole alone. The pokemon is aggressive though, so i have to pacify it. I send out Ingrid and hit a water Z-move that does half after tanking a psywave that did over half. I then switch Daikuchi on on a Venoshock, but Daikuchi takes almost half from Psywave too, and he barely does any damage. My next swap is into Oogaa; he comes in on a weak psywave and brings the thing to the red with Karate Chop, after which it flees back to its home dimension.

Just as the beast disappears, the Ultra Recon Squad suddenly show up and explain that that was an Ultra Beast. I had figured that part out already, but thanks anyway. Lusamine explains that she's been working with these people in case ultra beasts found their way to Hawaii, which i guess has paid off now. They're especially scared of something called Necrozma, which consumes the light of entire worlds. This thing wasn't from Necrozma's world though, so we should be fine. That completes our tour through Aether though, so Hau and i head back to the docks and set course for the next island.

The minute we hit the shores of Ula'ula, Hau challenges me to a fight. He leads with his Torracat and i with Ingrid. Ingrid tanks a Bite that unfortunately flinches her and brings her into crit range, but i've little choice but to risk it. I tank another bite, then i strike back with a water Z-move for the OHKO. My next foe is Leafeon, so i swap to 99. A few Gusts later, the eeveelution is down and Hau has to go for his Noibat. This job is for Daikuchi, who kills it with ease. Then comes his psychic-type Raichu; this job is perfect for Blargh. Or so i thought; Psychic brings me well into the yellow and my Bug Bite leaves him with a sliver. This is bad. I see very few options here. The only way out is probably through a sacrifice. I switch Daikuchi in and brace for the worst, trying to stall my foe out with healing items. I notice he keeps going for Psychic though even though it's not very effective; since that generally does less than half, i decide to attack. Daikuchi survives the next hit on just 1 HP and finishes the big rat off. Last is Tauros, so i switch to Oogaa. His Horn Attack brings me into crit range and my flying press doesn't kill; another dangerous situation. With little choice but to risk it, i tank the hit on 9 HP and kill the bull. Victory is mine, but these were someclose calls.

As a reward for winning, Hau gives me a Primarium Z that was apparently in the malasada Wicke gave him; this'll be perfect once Ingrid evolves. This was an eye-opener though; i need to train more. So i head into the Malie Gardens, catch Tajiri the Poliwhirl and start my training. During this training, Suzy evolves into Magmar, so she can finally start pulling her weight. I continue training for a bit, then it's time to call it a day.
