I've been playing through Ruby recently so I can transfer the legendary pokemon over to Soul Silver. But I've been having problems with catching them. I bring their HP down to red and send them to sleep or paralyze them, but even after throwing 50+ balls I never seem to get anywhere and it's really starting to annoy me. Is there any real strategy at all to catching them? Or is it just luck?

They can be really annoying... try raising a Ralts till it learns Hypnosis, and then a Nincada till it learns False Swipe (Try using everstone on them while doing it, or they will try to evolve, and they learn the skills after their 1st ev level), then bring it down to 1hp with false swipe, and put it to sleep, and then just start throwing balls...

I remember I caught Regirock and Regice with a pokéball, usually on the 3rd, 4th try, Registeel took me a few ultra balls, same for Groudon..

Thanks for the advice. Oddly enough, after posting this thread I caught Groudon straight away, then when I came round to getting Regice and Registeel, I got them both first try as well, only took 3-4 ultra balls each! I guess the game knew I was getting pissed off! :p
