Well, I'm nearly at the end of the game in Platinum (Elite 4 at the moment), and in a little bit, I'm gonna start my competitive team for Platinum. This is what I have in mind so far, but anything is subject to change. Any help at all in planning the team is appreciated.

Floatzel.png

Floatzel
Nature: Adament or Jolly
Item:
EV: 252 attack, 252 speed
Moves:
Aqua Jet
Ice Punch
Crunch/Pursuit
Iron Tail

My main physical sweeper. His moveset can cover most types.I mostl likey use Crunch over Pursit, just because I'm not really great at predicting when my opponents swich out. Iron Tail could be used to lower defenses, though I'm open for opinions here.

Breloom.png

Breloom
Nature: Adament
Ability: Posion Heal
Item: Posion Orb
EV: 252 Attack, 252 Speed
Moves:
Drain Punch
Spore
Seed Bomb
Thunder Punch

Physical Sweeper. Drain Punch to take the place of Giga Drain for a physical moveset, Spore and Seed Bomb are self explanitory, and Thunder Punch to deal with flying types.

Gliscor.png

Gliscor
Nature:Bold or Adament
Ability: Hyper Cutter
Item:Leftovers
EV: 252 defense, 128 attack, 124 speed
Moves:
Swords Dance
Toxic/Stealth Rock
Baton Pass
Earthquake

A staller, but with some attacking ability. Swords Dance to power up, Toxic or Stealth Rock to screw with opponents, Baton Pass to switch Swords Dance's effect, and Earthquake, in case I get caught in a taunt.

Gengar.png

Gengar
Nature: Modest
Item:
EV: 252 SA, 252 Speed
Moves:
Shadow Ball
Dark Pulse
Confuse Ray
Thunderbolt/Psychic

A Special sweeper. Pretty self exspanitory (though I most likely won't use Confuse Ray).

Umbreon.png

Umbreon
Nature: Bold
Item: Leftovers
EVs: 252 HP, 128 D, 124 SD
Moves:
Taunt
Baton Pass
Assurence
Wish

A healer for my team. Use Wish, then Baton Pass to another opponent. Taunt to screw with opponents.

Magnezone.png

Magnezone
Ability: Magnet Pull
Item:
EV:
Moves:
Discharge
Flash Cannon
Magnet Rise
Thunder Wave

He, in a way, works with Umbreon. When Umbreon faces Skarmory, he'll use Baton Pass to bring this guy out. Skarmory then is as good as dead.

So this is my plan. If anything doesn't work, just point it out, and we can work on a solution to the problem. So let the rating begin!

Floatzel
Nature: Adament or Jolly
Item:
EV: 252 attack, 252 speed
Moves:
Aqua Jet
Ice Punch
Crunch/Pursuit
Iron Tail

Iron Tail doesn't really give you much in terms of coverage. Return is a potential option that can give you the good ol' Water/Normal combo, but it's only a major help against Sharpedo, Crawdaunt and Poliwrath, none of which are very big threats (although Return gives you slightly more powerful neutral hits than Crunch). Brick Break is also an option to hit Empoleon. You can also go with Bulk Up to give this set more power, or Taunt if you're planning to lead with it. With Adamant, 252 Speed allows you to outspeed everything with base 100 speed (like Zapdos), whereas with Jolly, you probably only need 216 in speed so you can outspeed Gengar.

Breloom
Nature: Adament
Ability: Posion Heal
Item: Posion Orb
EV: 252 Attack, 252 Speed
Moves:
Drain Punch
Spore
Seed Bomb
Thunder Punch

For healing, Leech Seed is probably a better option than Drain Punch, although you would probably want to run the standard SubSeedPunch set then. Mach Punch is a good option on Breloom for Fighting STAB and to overcome its low speed. Stone Edge should probably replace Thunderpunch, as it still hits hard against Gyarados but offers more power and coverage against other things. With a Toxic Orb, Facade is a good option for hitting hard.

Pretty much, Breloom has a lot of good options. Figure out what you like best. Also, you should definitely be aiming to pass some SDs from Gliscor over here.

Gengar
Nature: Modest
Item:
EV: 252 SA, 252 Speed
Moves:
Shadow Ball
Dark Pulse
Confuse Ray
Thunderbolt/Psychic

Dark Pulse doesn't really help your coverage here much. Focus Blast is another option you could use instead. Go with Thunderbolt over Psychic. Confuse Ray could be replaced with Hypnosis, although its accuracy is shaky in Platinum. You could also try replacing it with Destiny Bond. Expert Belt and Life Orb are some good choices for items.

Umbreon
Nature: Bold
Item: Leftovers
EVs: 252 HP, 128 D, 124 SD
Moves:
Taunt
Baton Pass
Assurence
Wish

A healer for my team. Use Wish, then Baton Pass to another opponent. Taunt to screw with opponents.

You don't need to use Baton Pass for Wish to heal your teammate. It can be useful though, since Umbreon is bulky and can take the hit for your other Pokemon, and it also allows you to scout.

Magnezone
Ability: Magnet Pull
Item:
EV:
Moves:
Discharge
Flash Cannon
Magnet Rise
Thunder Wave

He, in a way, works with Umbreon. When Umbreon faces Skarmory, he'll use Baton Pass to bring this guy out. Skarmory then is as good as dead.

Just want to point out that you don't need to baton pass to Magnezone. Switching will do the same thing. Also, Leftovers is probably best for the item unless you want to change to a Scarf Magnezone and breed for HP Fire to kill Scizor.

You'd probably want to use Impish on Gliscor and Careful on Umbreon (Bold lower's Gliscor's attack and Umbreon's attack; besides, why boost Umbreon's defense mostly when you already have a physical wall?)..

That's the only thing I really noticed, I'm not too good with full rates..
