I know this is a new thread but i want to make my point clear.

The email message/guestbook posting regarding Eric Stuart and Pokémon USA Dubbing the special/next season completely contradicts what Veronica Taylor said to me in person last month.

She explained to me that she and the other VA's were dubbing a Special Episode for April and that for the next season Pokémon USA were 'Considering' using soundalikes for the characters instead of the VA's so the email from Eric Stuart completely contradicts what i've been told straight from Veronica's mouth.

Perhaps Veronica Taylor was told one thing and Eric Stuart another, to cover up the fact that they're letting one go and not the other. But your source seems more reliable.

Considering. So they still haven't made the decision yet...

In that case...

WRITE TILL YOUR FINGERS BLEED!

Oh, that's weird.

So what Veronica Taylor said in person just completely contradicts that Eric Stuart email......

That's interesting.

Although, I like how she said that the current VAs were actually used for the special.

If that's true, then that's great news!!

And as for them 'considering' new VAs, that sort of sounds the same as what Eric Stuart said.

So anyway, yes, I will write as many letters as you have wrote and even more nekusagi-chan!!

If we all work toghether we can save the voice actors for Pokemon!!!! ^^

It doesn't matter. They could have made a last minute change and dubbed the special with new voice actors after she made that comment. There's a large time gap between VT's comment and Eric Stuarts e-mail, so she may have thought she was dubbing the special at the time, but now they may have used new voice actors.

Subject: Re: Pokémon to be Recasted?

Hey Scott-
Unfortunately, this is very real. We have been informed that Pokemon USA has already made plans to do the Anniversary special with substitute voices. Apparently, they haven't made a firm decision on the next season yet. None of us have been formally asked to do the show, we've simply been told we'll be replaced. Pokemon USA has made no effort to negotiate with 4kids, simply feeling that getting a cheaper rate to dub the show is enough. They care nothing for the quality. They will be using new script writers, voices, music, etc. We (the voice actors and those at 4kids who work so hard on the show) are all extremely upset as we care very much for Pokemon and what we've worked to create. However, there is nothing that we can do. It seems that the only recourse is for fans to write to Pokemon USA and tell them how wrong their decision is and how it will adversely affect the show.

Thanks for your concern. Please spread the word and let's all try to work together to right this wrong before it's too late.

Veronica

I found this email address on Pokemon.com. [email protected] Does anyone know if this is the correct Pokemon USA email address?

Here is the best place to send your hand-written letters to:

Pokémon USA, Inc. (HQ Offices)
400 Madison Avenue
New York, NY 10017

LET YOUR VOICE BE HEARD!

E-mails can be ignored, hand-written letters...not so much!

We've got to start making banners and create an organized letter-writing campaign. Expect some banners from me shortly.

Anybody willing to volunteer making a campaign website on such short notice?

Do it. If you need help with graphics, I'll be on mirc and AIM (Swiftieee). I'm going to make a graphic logo for us.

Good idea, also get the guys on SPP involved with this (as well as on the other pokemon forums), and they'll be a lot of people willing to write. There's a huge thread on SPP right now with people against the new voice actors, so if there is enough uproar, Pokemon USA may reconsider.

Especially since they're apparently waiting to dub Season 9 until the "Mastermind of Mirage Pokemon" special airs with the new voices, possibly waiting to see fan reaction to these new actors. If they're waiting, then it IS possible that they'll listen to the fans and reconsider.

Awesome. If we can pull together in this time of crisis, then there's no telling what we'll be able to accomplish.

Thanks, Swifty. I'll be fine for graphics, but it's good to know I have your help. Personally, this might be the influence of my folding cranes, but I think a wish theme would work for this quite well - especially since then we can have a Jirachi as our unofficial mascot.

That sounds like an awesome idea... Perhaps if we can make them see how important this is to us, they'll reconsider.

I like the idea of the theme. Jirachi can be an unofficial mascot, but do you think they'd complain, considering that it's technically their character?

Also, the address to Pokemon USA is up, but to whom do you think we should we address the letters to?

Ah, true. On the other hand, though, it could be another way of showing them just how much Pokémon means to us, and we're not technically making a profit off of it...

I'm not sure. What's the general consensus?

I say we go for the corporate, business-like angle. Monochrome graphic with concentration on form rather than detail. In other words, a vector graphic logo made in Illustrator.

Here's a little quickie I whipped up in Illustrator. I'm aiming for a banner people that could put in their signatures with that banner linking to more information about sending snail mail to Pokemon USA.

It's not my best, but it'll do for having worked on it for only 30 minutes. Again, I prefer minimalism and KISS. I don't know if that'll supplement or cramp any preconceived stylistic schools of thought you have currently instituted.

Mmm...

On one hand, we do want it to look professional, to give them the clear message that we're serious and not just a bunch of crazy kids with a lot of free time on their hands.

On the other hand, we don't want it to look too professional, because we need to keep our will and energy high to maintain a drive in this campaign, and being too strict and business could kill this drive as well.

This is gonna be tricky, but I think I can pull it off.

The sig banner is good, though. Very nice work.
