Should there be a fight scene starting the new episode?

So my next major arc of "The Journeys of the Red Star" begins with a cleric's apprentice being kidnapped by cultists in disguise as bandits in the middle of the night. However, I am torn over whether or not Ash, Kiyama, and Dawn need to fight the bandits at all. On one hand, a fight scene would be cool, but on the other hand, it would set up a kind of mystery if the party get in there seconds after the cultists flee.

So what do you think sirs (and madams?) Fight or no fight?
 
I say go for the mystery. It's Pokémon- you have plenty of opportunity for action as it is.
