To PreOrder...Or Not To Preorder

So I went into gamestop the other day to get some games for my DS and the guy selling them to me told me I was able to preorder HGSS now.

My history with preordering hasn't been good, because it seems like I preorder a game and the price goes down right away or it takes longer to get the game then if I would have just bought it. I always go online for preordering though, and not through gamestop.

What are your thoughts?

I don't preorder unless I think the game will be sold out before I can buy it. I might be thinking of reservation, but I think it costs money too?

And yeah, I agree with the price going down after you pre-order part. >_>;

When they announce the BA Ho-Oh, Lugia, and Arceus pre-order figures, then you pre-order.

I doubt the Pokewalker is a pre-order bonus only.

My wife and I were walking past the Rockefeller centre in NYC and bumped into the Platinum release party next to the Nintendo World Store (was an accident, neither of us cared about pokemon anymore and didnt even know platinum existed). However, the line outside the Store was massive to get Platinum 1 day early - so I don't agree with:

Don't pre-order Pokemon games, it won't be out of stock in any of your local game retailer stores outside of japan.

However, I don't think its worth pre-ordering it at the moment, especially as a street date hasn't been officially announced yet.

I will go to the release event for HG/SS though, and join that line of hopefuls in March (hopefully the nice people in the Nintendo World Store will let me reserve one - but I doubt it!)

Free ones are. And I live in Europe, so I can't just walk into the store anymore and ask if they have extras on the US release
It's either that or wait until the PAL version comes out, and considering Gen2 was my fav, I'd rather not

There's always enough copies of Pokemon games. The only reason to preorder is if you want a tiny statue of a Pokemon.
