I´ve heard that pokemon is only for kids lots of times, I generally dont have any problem playing the game, but do any of you think theres an age when youre too old for pokemon ?

No.

As long as you enjoy something, there's no age limitation. Just go for it.

a baby can watch it, a grandpa can watch it

Anyone can watch it as long as they have someone to pay da bill!!!

A lot of things are for little kids, yet people like it. I say whatever, otherwise you'll life will probably get that much more boring.

Try explaining EV training, IV breeding, Chain breeding, egg groups, and the basics of competitive battling to a kid, or even an adult and see if they understand it.

Anyways, although the game is marketed to kids, it is not a kids game. Like Mario, Pokemon is a classic game that people of many ages find enjoyable.

My sister makes fun of me because I'm 16 and I like it. Sue me ;P

I'm twenty-four and I'm still into it. People do tease me because I like it, but I don't care.

Never. I'm 20, and I still love it. My boyfriend is 22 and just getting into it, but he enjoys it.

You're never too old for Pokemon. It's simple enough for kids, complex enough for adults - it's actually kind of a challenge for those who don't understand everything involved with the game.

I'm 36 (or will be next month) and still love it. Friends who used to tease me about it have got Diamond or Pearl and are now addicted.

My mom said I was too old for it when I was twelve. I'm twenty-two now. X)

Everyone in this forum makes me feel young. Anyways, I'm 16, currently not an active gamer (haven't played in a while) but still love the aspects of Pokemon so much that I'm posting here.

hmm, I think that explaining the IVs and EVs would gain points in my favor, however, most people just think that pokemon is just the anime/plushies/figures.

As my philosophy professor would reply whenever he was caught playing videogames and some one asked, “ how old are you?” In that o so smug tone. He would simply respond “ Old enough to know better But young enough to do it any way.” He was in his 60’s so I think im still OK.

I loved pokemon ever since around 1999, I still love it to this day, even though I'm 18. I don't watch the show anymore, but I still play the game.

Same here, still love playing the games but i stoped watching the cartoon a long time ago.Videogames are played for fun and your never to old to have fun

I don't know about the females, but the males, they don't age...

they just slowly detiriorate*

*sorry about spelling, i aint that good

I get teased by friends and my mom a lot because I still like Pokemon. x:

But eh, I don't think there's really such a thing as being "too old" for something. If you like it, go for it.

I have had my fair share of idiots giving me crap about it. Then again my school is so damn prejudiced that almost everyone hides most of their lives to avoid persecution. For example, in 8th grade, my friends and I tried to get in with the "cool" crowd. It was going fine, we were actually making friends with them until I let slip that I liked Pokemon. Now it wasn't the people we were sitting with that made me feel like crap, it was one of my friends. He told me to shut up, that we weren't gonna end up their friends if I talk about Pokemon. So I just up and left. A week later I was sitting back with my actual friends, when I hear that my other 2 mates had been shunned out of the group. Turns out that they were a passing fad anyway. They didn't come back and sit with us for another week because they couldn't admit to me they were wrong.

But then again, there can also be the people who are just plain idiots. If there's one thing I hate more than morons, it's hypocritical morons. This one guy was asking me if I was all right because the school library didn't have any pokemon books (I wasn't looking for any btw.) He started going on about how much I must miss my DS while at school not being able to play with my monsters.

I laughed SO DAMN HARD. I laughed and laughed in his face. You see, this guy had recently discovered WoW. He thought it was the best thing since sliced bread. Coincidentally, as soon as he got into WoW, he started skipping entire weeks of school to play it. The only reason he was at school that day, was because he had an enrollment review with the principle, after failing EVERY SINGLE SUBJECT.

I love Pokemon.
