You...uh...really kinda lose there for identifying Kingdom Hearts as an anime. And there's two FF animes but I get the feeling you don't mean either of them.

there's actually more than two if you throw the whole damn VII compilation into the mix. Even if you don't count the 3D Advent Children as an anime (despite being a Japanese production unlike that god-awful Spirits Within), there's still Last Order, and possibly one other I might've forgotten.

And in his defense, Kingdom Hearts did have a manga... though, he kinda screwed up by putting "Your favorite animes? Mine:" at the beginning of his post and not even having a separate list for manga (considering the thread's title asks for both/either).

I don't have ten favorites. =P Really good anime that I like is hard to come by. Only some make it onto my "favorites" list.

Ghost in the Shell (but nobody else mentioned this anime? Ftw!!)

I'm also working on Wolf's Rain but I can tell that it won't make it as a "favorite".
 
The problem with GITS is it doesn't hold the audience's hand through the convoluted story.

You and the plot are driving through the desert in a truck. Out of nowhere, the plot boots you out, kicks sand in your face and drives off at 60MPH.

I still love it.

But eh, not every plot is going to hold your hand throughout the entire thing. Guess that's why I like GitS. It's unique. :3

They totally count. I didn't list any personally because it would just make the list way too bulky, but Miyazaki's films are just amazing.
