The 2023 edition of the Top Speed Time Trial Event is returning to Pokémon Masters EX this week, launching alongside a trio of new Triple Feature Poké Fair Scouts featuring a variety of returning Sync Pairs. The Champion Stadium is also making its regular rotation today, switching to the Johto Challenge.

Time Trial Event: Top Speed
The 2023 edition of the Top Speed Time Trial Event, which originally ran from May 10th to June 2nd last year, is returning to Pokémon Masters EX until October 20th. This event last ran in December 2023, at the same time as the previous re-runs of the Investigate the Foundation and People Protecting Pokémon villain events.

Time trial events are a rare type of limited-time event in Pokémon Masters EX, having only previously been run 7 times since the original Race to Victory event in November 2020. These events challenge players to complete battles in a short amount of time, with players being ranked from Grade C to Grade S and awarded points according to how long they take to win a battle. Event Rewards are then earned by players for reaching certain point milestones.

Whereas previous time trial events imposed limits on the number of attempts players might make per day, in this run of the Top Speed event players will have no restrictions on the number of attempts of each event battle. As such, practice matches are not included in this particular time trial events.

A wide range of event missions will be available alongside this event. The first batch of 7 missions for this event is available in-game now, with more scheduled to open up over the coming days:
  • Missions 8-11 will be available from October 8th, at 11:00pm (PDT)
  • Missions 12-15 will be available from October 9th, at 11:00pm (PDT)
  • Missions 16-19 will be available from October 10th, at 11:00pm (PDT)
  • Missions 20-23 will be available from October 11th, at 11:00pm (PDT)
Players should also note the following when playing this event:
  • To participate, players must have completed Main Story Chapter 1: The More the Merrier (Normal) in single-player.
  • The sync pairs that appear as opponents in battle have different capabilities than those players can actually obtain.
  • All mission completion rewards must be claimed within three days of the mission period ending.
Champion Stadium: Johto Challenge

Until November 3rd, at 9:59pm (PST), the Champion Stadium is rotating around to Johto, giving Trainers the opportunity to challenge the Indigo Plateau Elite Four members from Generations II and IV, Will, Koga, Bruno, and Karen, as well as the Champion Lance.

Successful Trainers will gain access to Master Mode, which allows players to face more challenging battles against the Elite Four, an in-game badge that signifies their accomplishment, and other special reward items including Champion Spirit, which can be used to raise sync pairs up to 6★ EX.

To participate in the Champion Stadium, Trainers must have completed Main Story Chapter 10: A Reason to Battle (Normal) in single-player. To attempt the Johto Challenge, players must also have completed the Kanto Challenge on Normal difficulty. The Normal difficulty of the Kanto Challenge is always available, regardless of the current regional rotation of the Champion Stadium.

A Trio of Triple Feature Poké Fair Scouts

Three separate Triple Feature Poké Fair Scouts are now available, featuring a wide variety of past Fair-exclusive Sync Pairs. The Sync Pairs featured in these scouts include:
As with a typical Poké Fair Scout, 5★ Sync Pairs will have a 10% chance of appearing, with the three featured trainers having a higher chance of being scouted. Each scout also includes a daily discount, where players can perform a single scout for ×100 paid gems. Each daily discount can be used 1 time per day during the entire length of the scout.

Sygna Suit N & Kyurem, Raihan & Duraludon, and Sygna Suit Leon & Eternatus will each be receiving EX Roles for the first time alongside these scouts. Sygna Suit N & Kyurem unlock a Physical Strike EX Role, Raihan & Duraludon unlock a Tech EX Role, and Sygna Suit Leon & Eternatus unlock a Support EX Role. These roles will also be available to players who have previously scouted these pairs.

In addition to the regular Scouts, Trainers can also take advantage of Presents! Limit 1! versions of each of the three Scouts at a cost of 5000 Paid Gems each. As the name implies, each of these massive ×25 Scouts can only be used a single time during their availability period. As an added bonus, players will also receive bonus Roll Cake Presents that can be used to unlock the newly added EX Roles for the featured Fair-exclusive Sync Pairs, as follows:
  • Triple Feature Poké Fair Scout A: Strike Roll Cake ×1
  • Triple Feature Poké Fair Scout B: Tech Roll Cake ×1
  • Triple Feature Poké Fair Scout C: Support Roll Cake ×1
Both the regular Triple Feature Poké Fair Scouts and the Presents! Limit 1! Triple Feature Poké Fair Scouts will be available through to October 24th, at 10:59pm (PDT).
