Torchic, use Wikipedia, now!

Awesome!! It seems Pokemon gets featured quite a bit there. And with it being #6 on the top list of searched terms this year, this proves that Pokemon's not just a fad.

Bulbasaur was the featured page a couple years back.

This might mean a little spike in traffic for Bulbapedia, whose Torchic article is linked at Wikipedia.

We can only hope. It's a pity that so many people are putting so much hard work into the Wikipedia articles though, to get them to the point where they're featured articles, yet those same people aren't doing that at Bulbapedia.

I actually wrote the bulk of the Pokemon anime intro after it was just a comparison of 4Kids and had literally NO information besides a dub bash, I also wrote the entries to Gary Oak, Richie, and Mrs Ketchum on that page ;p

On the topic of Wikipedia, stuff like Dowin, Spookloon, and Aipertwine is getting annoying.

EDIT: Masukippa should of been the featured article!

Ritchie Bulbapedia Article said:
He has a lack of popularity in the Pokémon fandom.
Lol

Who didn't see it coming? I'm a member of the Pokémon Portal, and Bulbasaur and Torchic have both been featured for a while now; they just never made the front page.

Still isn't as exciting as when Bulbasaur made the front page...
[ok, so I'm biased]

I wonder why they went for Torchic, I'm sure a legendary like Mew may have been a more
attractive choice at this point since they've already done the starter pokemon thing.

Hey, they aren't really into excitement and pizazz over there. I mean a few weeks ago, I think the featured article was "Erasers." hmm...

Ah, yes. Another featured article.
Is this good?
He [Richie] has a lack of popularity in the Pokémon fandom.
Quoted For Absolute Inviolable Truth.
They went for this article specifically because of the 53 reference notes, 11 links, and 5 pictures, all covering different bases. It's quite possibly the most definitive article on Torchic conceivable. Kudos to the tireless heroes who labored away at this page, for reasons beyond human understanding.

Richie has a lack of popularity in the fan base? WHAT?! He's ONE of my favourite characters which probably goes like this:
1) Misty (even though I love fire types)
2) Ash/Ritchie (both pretty much the same so I can't decide
3) Brock (just 'cause he makes thinks so much more interesting *ahemdramaticahem*)
4) Tracy (I was upset when Brock was tempererily replaced but Tracy's not such a bad charcter)
5) Max (such a good addition to the team)
The rest (in Ash's team) can never replace Misty even if they win every battle their just not as good. (why is Misty never mentioned in the new series...)

Richie is actually one of the most hated characters in their entire fandom. Considering he's an Ash clone, it doesn't surprise me.

Misty was removed because the show didn't need her anymore. She spent the majority of Johto doing nothing but clutching an egg.

Lol

if that was a reference to me I wrote the Wiki page, not the Bulbagarden page.

Richie (Hiroshi): After meeting in the Indigo Pokémon League tournament Ash and Richie soon became friends. With similarities glaringly obvious to Ash in appearance, Richie’s humble attitude and responsible demeanor set him aside from Ash. After a close, but heated match between the two at Indigo Stadium, Ash and Richie vowed to both become Pokémon Masters. The two cross paths again, and a couple of shows even focus on Richie himself as he too journeys to keep his promise to Ash of becoming a Pokémon Master.
