Hi all

I bought a starter kit, tried the game with my wife and we both liked it a lot. Where to go from now? I bought a few booster packs as well and 2 theme decks. Now... can anyone explain me a few things:

- How I can evaluate the value of my cards?
- Where do I get energy cards?
- What are all those types of cards: foil, holo, reverse holo, promo and so on?
- Once I have a decent amount of cards to allow deck buidling, is there a "standard" draft procedure to make every game different? I don't want to have just one powerful deck; I'd rather draft a deck every game and vary my options and energies so no 2 games feel the same

If anyone is willing to "teach" me Pokemon TCG as a hobby (I never collected cards of any sort before) and how to expand, develop, optoimize my collection I would be very thankful! It seems this place is the best to get help...

Hi. I'd be willing to help you. I'll answer your questions:

1. Value is really determined by: Attack Power, Foil, And Rarity Symbol. Rarity Symbols are in the Bottom Right-Hand corner of the card. A star with a H after it is ultra rare.

2. Energy Cards can be got in special sets. Here is the list: http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Category:Basic_Energy_cards

3. In order of Rarity: Foil, Reverse Holo, Holo, Promo. Foil has foil on it. Reverse Holo is Shiny Cards with just the Picture un-shiny, Holo is All Shiny, and Promo is Promotion Cards.

4. I'm afraid I can't help this one. If you want to vary your games, choose one or two cards you change each time, or a few Pokémon.

Okay, i going try to tell everything with pictures, but its not easy, cause may english is not so good:

The value of a card can't be seen on a card, but there are category's of cards that tell more how much they are +/-:

This is Card from the lowest category. This can you see on the black circle Right-Down on the card.

33.jpg

This one is bewteen Rare & Not Rare, and have a black block in the right down of the card.

26.jpg

This one is rare, and have a stare right down on the card.

You have also special cards. See here below from left to right: Level X, Prime & Legend cards. This last one is a combination of 2 part-cards, each one can found single.

Then your next question:

Energys can be found in Theme-decks & in boosters, but not in all of them. The last one comes out in Heartgold/Soulsilver.

Next question:

Foil & Holo are the same cards, and mean that they are blinking in there picture. Reverse Hoil are, just like they name says, reverse, so not the picture blinking on that cards, but all the rest, just like this one:

the last one:

I dont understand your question 100%, but you don't may sort cards, if you mean that.

From the rest: if you want to start with pokemon TCG Tournaments, then you best start with prerelease's. There, the price is 20-30 euro, but you have a great much of boosters, learn how to make a deck and everyone can make a deck from +/- the same niveau!
