TPC hints at Jump Festa reveal: Pokémon Battle Chess also on pre-order

True, having the generation done as fast as possible makes sense, and if you think about it, Movie 15 should be the second to last movie for this gen. What I mean is, Meloetta would really make sense here if Keldeo is in it, not with Genesect. How that would play out is later on, but I'm trying to say its gonna be 4 years no less. Maybe no new game after Gray, or hell they'll give us remakes early 2013, but that's it.

I'm trying to think what wold qualify for a "world-first shocking announcement". All I'm coming up with are two versions of Grey for DS and 3DS, some unprecedented new spinoff the likes of which we can't even imagine, or Grey being just that awesome. No idea which is most likely here.

Well according to the Japanese CoroCoro Magazine, a new Pokemon Game will be revealed in the next month's CoroCoro Magazine. So we'll see then.

Well shucks, I guess we gotta wait another month before we hear anything, since this new game won't be announced at Jump Festa after all. Although, I am a little hopeful that they'll at least give us the title of the game. As for the label of "world's first shocking announcement", I don't think I'm going to get too hyped up about it until then. They seem to make a big hype almost out of everything, like Pokepark Wii 'n stuff like that. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, and I kick your butt.

...What? If it's not a main game, and it's a "world-first", might as well think outside the box.

No - it means that CoroCoro will be the first place in the world to bring the information on the new game.

It always is. Redundant, much?
Even so, the current loop of "Gray-Remakes-Good spinoff-Disappointing spinoff" is going nowhere. Until we get more decisive evidence, literally anything is possible so why do people keep on resorting to the same ideas? I'm trying to incite some actual discussion here so shoosh. :p

Actual dream world game, not this flash bull
Side-scrolling fighting game
Visual novel? Bahahaha NOT
Puzzle game...?

Well they have to give us some fuel for speculation. God forbid we get actually surprised by something great! :p

We've seen quite a few disappointing spin-offs lately (by which I mean, Pokémon Rumble, that typing game, PokéPark 3). What makes Gray more likely than everything else is the Kyurem movie we're getting next year. Though it's just as likely that we'll get Mystery Dungeon/Ranger since we still haven't gotten either of those games for the fifth generation. I think it's going to be pretty much either Mystery Dungeon/Ranger or Gray or maybe RS remakes but I find that unlikely.

Oh God, no. I'd classify that as a disappointing spin-off. -_-

Side-scrolling fighting game
I don't even know what that is. xD

Visual novel? Bahahaha NOT
That would be interesting, to say at least. I wouldn't mind such game.

Puzzle game...?
Why don't you just shot me? ._.

That would depend on the execution, I think. I'd say something based on the concept of the dream world but with a plot, a more complex sandbox map and more dream-like mindfuck mechanics (like the general instability that comes with real dreams) would be quite fun.

I don't even know what that is. xD
Street Fighter? Mortal Kombat?

The bitching over the lack of romance routes would drown out the entire internet for the next 200 years.

Aw, what's wrong? Did Professor Layton violate your head too much?

I don't know really - only it's a very good fucked up plot. xD

Street Fighter? Mortal Kombat?
Oh. I don't see it happening, lol.

Or let the novel have Ash as protagonist with the four main girls; Misty, May, Dawn and Iris? xP

I'm troll-free, thank you very much. ˇ_ˇ

If you were to play Yume Nikki or any of the fanmade spinoffs of it, you could get a good idea of what concepts a mindscrewy dream game would entail.

Oh. I don't see it happening, lol.
Neither do I. We already have a fanmade Pokemon fighting game anyway, so no huge loss there.

Again, the "shocking announcement" The Pokemon Company have on Jump Festa may be the "new game". Well, they might only announce its title and even a little bit of its information, while they let Coro Coro reveal more information. Its still early for them to reveal Keldeo and Kyurem's forme at this point since the movie was just revealed weeks ago, and if we look on the history of Pokemon movies, Keldeo, Kyurem's forme, and the full title of the movie should be revealed on around February or March 2012. So we might get only some little bit of a part of the plot on the said movie for their update this coming weekend, although I doubt this is their shocking announcement on Jump Festa, with it being the new game instead. But hey, don't get me wrong, they might broke the pattern they had for the past 14 movies and reveal Keldeo and/or Kyurem's forme immediately this coming weekend, although even if that scenario happens, I still see the new game being fit into that, even if its only the title of the game.

I would like to believe that they are still going to reveal Keldeo and, (or) Kyurem's alternate form at Jump Festa, but now it just seems that this will be a Battle Chess for 3DS (or something like that) announcement. Most likely, this will happen: Jump Festa will be for Battle Chess (and, oh yes, PokePark 2) and all this speculating will be for nothing! Next months CoroCoro will unveil Pokemon Grey (and maybe the alternate form of Kyurem). Another announcement about the next movie will be made later on, unveiling Keldeo and also revealing Kyurem's alternate form will be in the movie (they might wait until then to reveal Kyurem's alternate form and then later on, show box art for Grey with Kyurem's alternate form on it). Finnaly, a Keldeo distribution announcement (unless they announce that along with the Keldeo unveiling).

It feels too early for it to be Grey, just because games usually come out after the movie so it'd be different if it was to come out before it. Not really sure what it'll be though, there are quite a few possibilities but they seem to be giving it some good hype so we'll see.

Despite what's being translated out of CoroCoro, I highly doubt that we won't get anything as small as a game title revealed at Jump Festa. TPC has said, or at least hinted at, that they would reveal something new regarding the games. And this is something that has been mentioned and brought up like 2-3 times within the past couple months. What I think will at least happen is a title reveal and which gaming platform it's for, and then CoroCoro next month will dish out the details.

2012 is the two year mark, same as Emerald same as Platinum.

Its either gonna be Spring 2012 or September 2012 for Grey, anything later than that would be longer than any third version. Since this announcement seems to be a big deal, as well as all the focus on Kyurem, I'm hoping that something pertaining to Grey is revealed soon.

I know, but it seems they are announcing the game coming in spring and it just seems odd because that means it'd come out before the movie when usually games come out after the movie. It really doesn't bother me though, Id love for it to come out in spring.

If you're going by precedent then it would have to be September, which means they wouldn't reveal it yet, which means that isn't what this is about. Since you're going by timeframe precedent it's a little strange not to also include month precedent.

Shocking? The only shocking thing they can possibly announce game-wise is either Grey showing promise of being pretty damn good, or something about the Wii Stadium equivalent. Because 50% (possibly more) of people who play Pokemon don't care about the spin off games.

Technicall their reveal at Jump Festa wasn't confirmed to deal with anything, and if anything it has to do with the movie. Only reason I can see CoroCoro mentioning the lack of news at Jump Festa is perhaps cause they want their readers to not buy anything else, but such a huge leap of misinformation might be taking it too far.
Edit:
Wait wait wait. Now viewing the scan and reading around seems like Serebii's line of no Jump Festa news is interpreted by how world premier is used. How the hell do we know its not gonna happen on Saturday?
