Trademarks for HeartGold and SoulSilver located: USPTO hosts 3 trademarks per game

With information on the Gold and Silver remakes, HeartGold and SoulSilver, flowing out, Nintendo has trademarked the games' titles. The trademarks were registered with the United States Patent and Trademark Office on May 7, a day before Yahoo! Japan revealed the remakes.

May be, may be not. Hope you're right, but I doubt it. Although Nintendo has released some games simultaneously, an even some being released first in USA, Pokémon is always first released in Japan and worldwide until several months before. It's a tradition, so it seems that we'll have to wait at least until January-February.

BTW, I remember some people who disliked the names of the remakes saying the names would change in the international release. Well, this proves they will be released everywhere as HeartGold and SoulSilver.

Good. I remember a fan translation of a page that called them "Heart of Gold and Seoul Silver," which makes about as much sense as nothing, so I'm glad they're at least moving in this direction. I like these names.

Very unlikely. They needed to register the trademarks before they announced the names. . .as to protect the names for themselves.

Also, it would be rather silly of them to announce titles they had yet to trademark. Even if the announcements were for the Japanese incarnation of the games only, they needed to cover all their bases before going public. Standard stuff, really.
