I've heard that trading between different language games during Generation 1 can cause some pretty intense glitches to happen.

Has anybody tried this?
What happened?

I'd really like to know!

It's probably true as the names and that stuff are in japanese and the game will interpret them different. They fixed it in Gen IV, though.

My personal experiences as taken from the "Glitches in RBY" thread:

I think I've ended up with a weird variation of the fabled glitchy charizard. Whilst trying to trade a vaporeon from my japanese green version for a pidgey from my english red version, I ended up getting two completely different pokemon. On my red version, the vaporeon ended up becoming a charizard (even said that it was a charizard during the trade) whose name is "77777777777". I can't view it's stats because the game crashes every time I try to select it for anything.

On my green version, the pidgey ended up becoming a level 16 voltorb (was originally level 3 as a pidgey). It's got some pretty odd stats, and no OT.
HP = *insert glitch block*60/*insert glitch block*60
Attack = 0 :-(
Defense = 768
Speed = 40
Special = 92

Yeah, it's pretty weird. I can't even view my pokemon on my red version anymore, the game just crashes.

Forgot to add, the voltorbs only move is doubleslap, with a PP of 10.
