If the Pokemon world was real, then it would be likely that the 5 regions would trade resources with each other. If they did, what do you think they would trade? Which region would benefit the most from this?

I think the point is that they don’t have to trade because all the regions that are shown are either secluded of have everything they need (minerals/mines, nutrients and good soil, farms, labour, etc) if those factors weren’t in play it would probably work much the same as the real world

The only other thing i can think of that they would trade is Pokémon and food... but if the Pokémon world where REAL they would probably have quarantine measures in place which would make it difficult

Sinnoh would probably produce lots of iron ore and other metals. Not to mention coal.

Johto would probably export moomoo milk and specialty poké balls and apricorns.

Unova... I guess technology and electronics?

Except Unova has cargo planes, we see Sinnoh have ports for delivery, and the Silph-designed Pokeballs are used in every region. Kanto also doesn't have good soil for berry growing, and there's a market in Two Island that claims it has items from all over the world.

Anyway, Sinnoh's major export is probably iron, and I can imagine Hoenn's being berries.

Doesn't somebody in Black & White say that wood from Pinwheel Forest is sent to Driftveil City and later exported from there?
I'm sure it was mentioned by someone in Pinwheel actually.

I can see Unova being more Japan than the United States in this sense, as they probably trade mass-produced electronics. Granted, Silph does that too.

I'd actually say wood, as the forests near Fortree and Petalburg are large enough. However the Fortree residents probably wouldn't let their forests be destroyed, which makes sense.

Hoenn does have a lot of knowledge and technology to do with the sea though, and have a big ferrying system.

I don't see where you're getting that Unova releases electronics when Castelia is the business district, and there aren't any electronics company there.

Since Johto's the only region where special Pokeballs (Love Ball, Heavy Ball, Moon Ball etc.) are made, I can imagine that it should be traded, but it seems that they cannot be moved away. Not sure why, but I guess it has something to do with only Kurt being the manufacturer. If he does start a business, then I can see him exporting those to other regions and making a lot of money off it. Some they may not be popular (Moon Ball is probably very situational, because very few Pokemon are affected by it), but some may be very popular (Heavy Ball is a pretty useful ball, I think).

Thanks for reading.

Kanto would export some electronics, because of Silph. It would also have a small tourism industry because of the volcano of Cinnabar Island and for the Vermillion city port for cruise ships like the SS Anne.

Johto would have a large tourism industry because it has a lot of historical landmarks such as the Tin and Burned Tower, and would have a large communication industry because it had the first radio tower and sells mediums for listening to it, such as the radio card. And it would export a large amount of valuable pokeballs because of people like Kurt. Plus, it would export agriculture because of the farm near Olivine City.

Hoenn would have a large tourism industry because of all the beaches and the Mount Chimney volcano. It would also export a VERY large seafood. Plus it would have a large scientific industry because of Mossdeep City's Space Center. It would export a lot of electronics because of the Devon Corporation.

Sinnoh would also have a tourism industry because of the snow, Mount Coronet, the great marsh, the Resort Area, and the three lakes. It would export a lot of precious materials from under the planet because of the mines and the underground. It would also export entertainment related stuff because of Jubilife City. It would export flowers because of Floaroma Town. Plus, it would export vegetables because it's western half is fertile.

Unova would be like the central hub of it all. It would have a large tourism industry, probably second only to Hoenn's beaches, if not THE largest, because of it's big cities, mainly Nimbasa, Castelia, and Black City, the city of Undella, and the bridges that are everywhere. It would be the Wall Street of the whole nation because of Castelia, and have a lot of tourists in Nimbasa. It would also have a lot of trading actually being done in the region because of the large cargo airport of Misaltron City and seaport of Driftveil City. It would have a large transportation industry because of it's subways.

They'd all export different rare Pokemon to each other because of the Safari Zones and White Forest. They'd also all have a large archaeology field because of the museums, Ruins of Alph, etc.

Maybe looks local but the Abundant Shrine gives plentiful and quality crops, so also Unova has some sorts on the Primary sector due that they also do delivery through Mistralton City, not forgetting that also due the settings it could also export technological support because Black's version of Opelucid City, being one of the most advanced cities in the Pokemon canonical world (I'm saying this because Larrouse City in the 7th movie), also, they provide services like the subway, the highways, the bridges as well.

Hoenn does well on maritime routes, such as having big ports like Slateport and Lilicove, like you said, not only that, it offers a really innovative Safari Zone as well, not to mention the Weather Institute where the climatologic research, I'm sure is not really exclusive for Hoenn.

Kanto... Hmmm, well Silph. Co. is there, it is a start, not to mention many people commented that the Pokemon League on Kanto is a toughie, so consider that people would want to see, included as a tourism route... Now you mention Cinnabar... I wonder how much it wrecked the economy of Kanto?

Johto... Pretty much everything you said, also the fact that there are many historic landmarks and such.
