Ookay, here we go. Another one shot. This one's a lot different from my standard ficcy- it's super artsy and poetic. For the record, the Roman numerals aren't supposed to be chapters- more like acts. I got the inspiration for this format in a compilation of Scholastic Art and Writing award winners, and decided to run with it, just to see what I could do. So here it is..

I.
Such a tragedy, they said. The little girl, only 13 when she disappeared mysteriously. The more optimistic residents of Lavender Town filed her under "missing". The more realistic ones filed her under "presumed dead". Such a tragedy. Top of her class at Lavender Middle School, she'd led the gymnastics team to many a championship. Such a tragedy. She was so cheerful. Nothing could cheer a person up on a bad day like her smile, her golden curls, her bright eyes. Such a tragedy. They didn't know what happened to her. All they knew was that in the days before her disappearance, she had been edgier than usual. Things had changed in her since she saw the police shoot the thieves in Lavender Tower, watched, terrified and enraged, as they fell to the ground. And defiantly asked why it was considered justice to kill those out of fear for their ideas. But no, she'd get over it. She always did. But things were different this time. This time, they were wrong. And then... gone. The girl was gone. Disappeared during the night, a fleeting mist.
II.
Such a tragedy. The entire town mourned her for weeks, as small towns often do in the aftermath of these losses. Tears were shed. And they moved on, as small towns often do.
Still, in every Lavender towner's heart, a small hole remained where she once was. And every so often, they would get together and reminisce on how wonderful she was. This was one of those days.
Little did Lavender Town know, tonight the little lost girl named Domino would be making a surprise visit to the town. Only this time, she would be with a few of her new friends.
III.
It felt good to be back home, she thought, as the helicopter landed.
She clutched her weapons tightly and began giving orders to her subordinates.
For a second, part of her felt sympathy for the town.
What an interesting reunion.
Such a tragedy, such irony. She laughed. When she was done with this mission, Lavender wouldn't know what hit it.
Such was life for her.
IV.
Such a tragedy, they said, as they started cleaning up the mess left in the aftermath of the Rockets' attack. What became of their little girl, what possessed the pride of Lavender to become so- dare they say it?- but the word was so.. harsh..- oh, fine then- evil? A few monks from the local temple suggested demonic possession. No, said some of the town elders, it was her pride getting the best of her. The local shrink blamed the stress, stress from being a model student, stress from being captain of the gymnastics team, stress from being so damn pretty. They knew that there was no real answer, at least no answer any of them knew. All of them could agree on one thing however: she was too lost to be saved now.
Such a tragedy, when good little girls grow up and change for the worse.
V.
Such a tragedy, she thought to herself, as she stood before the graves of the two Team Rocket members who had died three years ago at the hands of the Lavender Police Department. So this was justice.
Disagree with a person's ideas about how things should work, just find their ideas the least bit subversive, and you can use deadly force, if necessary of course. She would never forget the night she swore she would avenge them, never forget when she ran off to Viridian. And now, she thought to herself, mission accomplished. It took a long time to convince the boss that a secluded, tiny town like Lavender was worth attacking, but in retrospect, it was worth it. No lives claimed, but the damage was enough that their presence in Kanto wouldn't be forgetten by Lavender's people for a good long while. Tears filled her eyes. At last, vengence, sweet beautiful vengence. She would, for once, sleep well tonight, knowing that all was right, at least in her world.
VI.
Such a tragedy, when all the answers seem so blurry, when everything seems lost. Such a tragedy, when everyone thinks everyone is wrong. Somewhere out there lies all the answers, constantly out of humanity's reach. Until then, there will be those who blame others, and those who take the blame. But there will always be dreamers, dreamers who simply want to change the world, for better or worse.
Such a beautiful tragedy, life.
