Trainers in India, don't miss out on the return of Pokémon GO's Festival of Lights event tomorrow, with the debut of Pikachu wearing a saree

Pokémon GO's annual Festival of Lights event will be returning this year exclusively for Trainers in India, running from November 1st, at 10:00am to November 4th, at 8:00pm local time. This event celebrates Diwali, a five-day long festival originating in the Indian subcontinent. During this event, certain wild Pokémon will have a glowing effect when encountered during the nighttime. This year's event will see the Pokémon GO debut of Pikachu wearing a saree. This event is part of the larger Pokémon Festivites campaign, which also includes various events and celebrations outside of Pokémon GO. Event Bonuses and Activities
The following bonuses will be active during the event period:
  • Stardust for catching Pokémon.
  • 2× XP for catching Pokémon.
  • Team GO Rocket balloons will appear every 2 hours.
  • Team GO Rocket Grunts will be appearing more frequently at PokéStops.
  • Incense (excluding Daily Adventure Incense) activated during the event will last for three hours.
Sweepstakes
In conjunction with this event, a special sweepstakes is being held on Instagram for Trainers in India, offering two lucky winners a Niantic-sponsored trip to São Paulo for Pokémon GO City Safari: São Paulo. Entry details can be found on Pokémon GO's official Instagram account for India.


On-site event
For Trainers in Bengaluru, a special celebration with Pikachu wearing a saree will be held on November 3rd, at Phoenix Marketcity, from 1:00pm to 8:00pm local time. Free surprises and giveaways will be available for all trainers attending the in-person event.

Event Bundle in the in-game shop

A special bundle will be available for purchase from the in-game shop during this event for 249 Pokécoins. This bundle will come with 4 remove raid passes, and 2 Incense.
