So many rumors and confirmations of various things have been going on, and I've mostly ignored them (nothing REALLY caught my eye as truly interesting), but this is too much at once to ignore.

For those interested in seeing the sequel, get ready for Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen.

I just wonder if the title is a reference to characters who have been killed, or to the Fallen.

And some other interesting details from a call sheet found at the Bethlehem, Pennsylvania shooting location.

Known Transformers at the sites was Ironhide and Bumblebee (at the Smithsonian). Additional NEW Transformers from what I can tell is Arcee (the motorcycles), The Twins (the Ice Cream Truck), Stinger (a Porsche I think), unknown Decepticon (Audi R8), Wheels or Wheelbot (the Go-Kart?), Jetfire (the Blackbird) and a "Constructicon Earth Mover".

"Wheels or Wheelbot"? I guess "Wheelie" is taken? And...The Twins?

Based on the scenes it appears they are hunting for something Decepticon related at the museum after hours involving the SR-71 Blackbird (with a Decepticon insignia) that is there.

There's already an uproar over at the Don Murphy boards concerning Wheels. Apparently, many people are of the opinion that he sucks.... even though we know nothing about the character at all. I don't know whether to laugh or cry.

And that SR-71 Blackbird...
is supposedly Jetfire. Yet he's sporting a Decepticon insignia. Interesting....

Me neither. I guess anything that has ANY resemblance to Wheelie gets labeled "sucky".

Didn't Jetfire start out as a Decepticon in the G1 Marvel comics? Maybe he'll start the same here, in TF2. Or the Blackbird is a Decepticon character like Darkwing, Dreadwind, or maybe even Dreadwing. We don't know yet.

Also...I think one of the Twins turns into the big ice cream cone-thingy for the truck. Now THAT'S weird.

Wasn't Jetfire also known as Skyfire? And wasn't he a Decepticon as Skyfire? Or...am I just misremembering things...again?

They wouldn't be a true fandom if they didn't get bent out of shape over something they know next-to-nothing about. I believe that's what defines the term "fandom." ...Or it should be.

Jetfire was originally a Decepticon called Skyfire but his compassionate side caused him to switch to the Autobots.

He was based on a Macross mech, so they had to change his design and his name for legal reasons early on in the cartoon, from Skyfire to Jetfire.

And the Dinobots better be in this one.

I keep hearing "Dinobots" and "Soundwave" are in. In fact, the writers have said, outright, that Soundwave WILL BE in this one. I'm not too sure I WANT to see Bay's take on the Dinobots, though.

Though I seem to remember hearing that the Constructicons were out.

But most of the confirmations lately have just been about casting (and NOT voice actor casting). And there are so many confirmed, rumored, or semi-confirmed casting choices whose status in the film may or may not even be noteworthy.

QFT.
I never go to the Don Murphy boards. My brain would simultaneously implode and explode due to the sheer amount of insanity. Trust me, visiting there is hazardous to your mental health. :banghead:

From what I've heard, both factions will have ten characters each. Some will be front and center while others will be "in the background", so to speak. And the writers have indeed confirmed Soundwave, iirc. (That was on TFW2005 a while ago. Unfortunately, I can't remeber when exactly. And the blog's been updated a bit; they have some photos of the filming now. However, the call sheets were yanked.)

I admit, I'm willing to give Bay's take on the Dinobots a chance. I honestly didn't think a Camaro would work for Bumblebee but I was proven way wrong.

The only confirmed voice I know of is Peter Cullen. Everything else seems up in the air right now.

June 2009 can't come soon enough.
