Transformers 3 Release Date Announced

It would seem Paramount and DreamWorks have secured the release date for Transformers 3, which according to Variety is July 1st, of 2011! This would be a safe move on their part, to merely secure the date for it’s theatrical release.

However, there IS the caveat of Michael Bay giving the okay to 2012, because he wanted to take a year off the franchise. So...we'll see what happens.

Well, we did know that there were going to be two sequels pretty much before the first one came out, if I recall correctly. 2007-2009-2011 makes sense.

Ooh, it's coming out on my brother's birthday (assuming this is correct). That'll make him happy.

I just hope they don't tick off Michael Bay. I don't want another director coming in and finishing out the trilogy. Say what you will about him, but I happen to like Bay's work.

Bay tries to shoehorn too much humor into what is ultimately supposed to be an action flick. Not that there's anything wrong with humor, but Bay's style of it just rubs me the wrong way. Too many potty/sex jokes and too many stereotypical black characters. As I've said, I prefer Chris Mowry's work on the movieverse comics to the movie itself. I'm not so angry as to say Bay ruined Transformers; he just makes movies I don't enjoy watching.

i loved the first movie, can't wait for the second to come out! from what I hear, it's going to be epic!

I didn't mind the job Bay did with the first one.
